Maxi-Jet 900 Powerhead / MP 900

As many others have stated, it can be very noisy. That being said, the powerhead function of it works perfectly. Could not have asked for a better powerhead.I have not tried it just yet, but I was directed to buy this as the filter part of this is supposed to fit perfectly into a 20oz plastic bottle. I should be able to cut the bottom of the bottle off and stuff it with polyester filter material and use it as an additional filter for the tank.

I think this powerhead is nice. However, the top cover kept popping off. The one side would not stay down. I shaved extra pieces of plastic waste from the stems, but still would not stay on. I didn't feel like messing with the trouble of trying to send it back so I used black zip ties to keep the lid down. It is working like a champ.

I've used other powerheads in the past. Maxi Jets are way better. I have multiple tanks and use the 900 & 1200. They circulate the water well, aren't too noisy and last over a year. The only thing I don't like about them is that the product info is stamped on the side of the unit and doesn't look good in the tank. In my fresh water aquarium I partially hide it with tall plants in my salt water aquariums it eventually gets cover in coraline.

I got this pump as a replacement,the one that it replaced was still working after many years of continuous use, I just thought it was time I changed it, as cheap insurance for my salt water tank.

Way too loud. If noise is even a consideration avoid this pump.

Can't say anything bad about this product. Converted one of my tanks to Cichlids and they love to swim against the current because this product can propel the water and bubbles up to 3 feet and easy to set up.

It works but it has the loudest buzzing noise. We have had one of these before and it was super quiet.
