The Insect Book: A Basic Guide to the Collection and Care of Common Insects for Young Children Paperback – January 1, 1997

I was slightly dissapointed with this book. The contents are entirely black and white. I was hoping for colored pictures of bugs etc. to make it more interesting for a child. The description should have specified that.

Great content and photos. Love it! My six year-old nature lover will use this plenty of times in the spring/summer!

It isn't bad, but it has no colored pictures and isn't very big. I got it for my 7 yr. old granddaughter, so we can have fun coloring the pictures ourselves. It is old, but in good condition. I might choose a newer book, if I had seen it beforehand, but it will be okay for our first bug book.

this insect book is an infomative tool for young readers who LOVE insects. my kids use it and thoroughly enjoy it.

I am the kids Gramma in my neighborhood. They love to look under the rocks in my yard for bugs, worms, lizards, etc and use my bug-books to learn about their find. It is an easy read. BTW, you may want to have some clean plastic jars on hand, also.
