Where have you been all my homeschooling life?
This is the journal I have been waiting for all my homeschooling life! (21+ years now!)I purchased one the Do It Yourself Homeschool Journals for my children last year (on pdf from the website), printed it out and love the neat layout of the pages with the prompts and space needed to adapt to a variety of ways to use it. So I was really tickled to see a "Handbook for Moms" in print available.I am a note taker, journal keeper, doodler, and general office supply junkie.I have owned many, many of the homeschool planners over the years and love using them.I never kept my homeschool and homemaking planning in one place, it was never convenient or practical to attempt to keep that much information all in one place. And then to try to tote it anyplace for use... I couldn't carry that big a tote bag!I'm going to take my handbook and have it spiral bound this weekend. The quality of the cover and paper will allow me to have it spiral bound, and drag it wherever I go for note making, brainstorming idea lists for home, school, and life in general. I can easily use my markers and gel pens without bleed through, as well as crayons and colored pencils .I love all the adult coloring books that have become available recently, but hesitate to actually purchase one.I like to color, but it isn't something I need for me.This Handbook is just the right answer for me. Lots of space and places for coloring and doodling, and.....all the pages I could want for my nonstop brainstorming, note taking, idea listing, and journaling. This I can tuck into my purse (I carry a big bag :0) ) and take it along to work in while waiting at one of the innumberable activities we attend,I look forward to filling it with my own ideas, notes, and lists. This will be my one stop spot for all the planning I need to stay on top of, schedules I have to keep and co-ordinate, and notes that get lost on random slips of paper in the bottom of my purse or scribbled in the front or backs of whatever book I am currently reading.

Brilliant!
I am really enjoying this so far! It is a great way to get artistic juices flowing or as a way to relax while still being a reminder to grow and learn and read those books that I have been planning to read. The idea is to plan to read from a few of the books you have selected and to do a few of the pages in this book every day. It might be a lovely coloring page or a place to write quotes .. a "what is your mood today" or a place to teach a kid a math fact. At first I thought there might be too much repetition in the pages, but as I use this I'm appreciating the repetition because I feel like I remember something better if I write it fresh instead of looking at a previous list (which you could also do of course!) I don't do all the pages in perfect order or finish coloring them in one sitting. Think of it like having around 3 to 4 pages a day and moving between those pages and finishing as much as you want. When you want to move on then continue on! You can always go back and color more as well. My daughters all have a "Fun school Journal" of their own as well and it has been working really well for our delight directed learning all the time sort of creative style. It encourages my daughters as well to see their mom do school with them. Model life long learning.

It'a about time someone comes out with something for us homeschooling Moms!
It'a about time someone comes out with something for us homeschooling Moms! This is a beautiful packed full of ideas, words of encouragement, and fun! My kids have their own journal and it will be wonderful to sit down and lead by example with my own journal. I love the prayer list, reading time since I'm always reading at least 2-4 books at a time, clearly I'm not the only one! I love the attitude improvement time with the coffee cup expressions. I wasn't sure about the recipe page, but you know it's a good place to research new ideas for cooking. The Mommy Math time is perfect for our Life Of Fred family Math and I look forward to sitting down and doing an extra chapter with the kids and writing our answers in this book. Since we don't have cable TV the World News Today will help me keep up to date with what's going on. Overall for the affordable price this is a fantastic bit of fun for Mom that has a lot of value to become the Homeschool Mom I want to be!

... don't feel this handbook lived up to all the good reviews I read here on Amazon
I don't feel this handbook lived up to all the good reviews I read here on Amazon. On one hand, I do think this is a unique offering and I really like the idea of this book and the other fun-schooling journals by the same author. However, there is just not a lot of content, despite the amount of pages. I guess I was hoping for more variety, maybe more inspirational ideas for making homeschooling fun or reflecting on motherhood, or maybe a variety of fun doodling or thinking exercises, maybe even some I could do with the kids. Anyway, I feel this book was not worth the price I paid. Seems like it should have been half that price. Also, there are two things that really bother me about this handbook. The first is that there are many pages where the artwork is blurry - like the printer resized images up to fit the page, which made them pixelated around the edges. They look generally low-quality, instead of crisp and professional. The second is the feel of the cover - it is not smooth and glossy as you'd expect, but has a slightly suede-grip texture which makes me think something's been spilled on it. Lastly, I think it would have been better in a slightly smaller size.

Bit disappointed. Was expecting tips/hints/ ideas and information
Bit disappointed. Was expecting tips/hints/ ideas and information, but it's just a book of print outs. Certainly not worth the money I paid for it.

Great tool, Definitely Christian-Flavoured
What I liked about this product is how delightful the images are and how helpful many of the pages are. Parents like workbooks, too!For non-Christian parents, please note that while this book isn't overly Christian in its content, it does contain jargon ("devotional," "verse," etc.) and at least one Biblical reference.I'm dissatisfied with this product for a couple of reasons, though. First, pages are repeated. This is okay, but don't expect each page to yield fresh content. Second, I am personally dissatisfied regarding the title and language used throughout the book; while most homeschooling parents are probably moms, it would be nice if dad's/grandparents/stepparents/etc. could feel invited to use this tool, too!

A kid’s colouring book targeted to adults
While the concept is nice, the illustrations to colour and the overall design are both rather childish. I get that they want to make it look like mom and kid’s journal is similar, but truthfully the designs in both are nearly identical. With the plethora of journals and colouring books design for adults these days, my expectations I guess were higher. I felt like I was colouring in a kid’s colouring book.

Love love love!
Dang rights, I get my own book! Hahaha! My kids have their journals and now I have one too. I really love all the sections from recipes, to-do lists, prayers and much more. Doodling and colouring is so relaxing and adding in all the rest just takes it over the top for me. So well put together, so well thought out.. even if you dont homeschool, this is great to have. I recommend it to everyone :)
