Replacement Upgraded Flip Remote Key Fob 315MHz 4D63 Chip for Ford Lincoln Mercury CWTWB1U331

For most people who buy this remote the hardest part will be getting the key cut. I bought this remote and key for my 2008 Ford Mustang GT. It took me trying a few places, including Ace hardware like others did, before going to a lock and key place. Ace Hardware would not cut the key because they said it would void the warranty on their machines. 5 dollars and 10 minutes later I was on my way. It would have only been $2 but they had to disassemble the remote in order to cut the key. YouTube is your friend, there were many videos on how to program this remote for my application. It seems to work really well with my car, the range is good all the buttons work just fine and I had no issue programming it. My only concern is how durable it will be it seems to be a little lightweight but hopefully it will last.

Due former experiences geting remote fobs through online, I got only one for my 2010 Ford Focus SE to upgrade from the square fob to this one. I'm very happy with this fob and somehow regretting for not getting the second one.I went to a couple of locksmiths to get it done.-First lock smith wasn't able to cut the key due it doesn't fit his machine.-Second locksmith, more experienced removed the key from the fob by taking out a tinny pin, big tip, there is no need to disassemble the fob, just remove the key to fit it into the duplicator machine. Then somehow he wasn't able to program the remote control, I noticed he wasn't closing the door while he tried. (I have programed other remotes my self by following the turning of and on switch), so I paid the 60 dolars that he charged me for duplicating the key and verify with a scanner that my hob has the right chip.I programmed the fob for my self and it work perfectly. I look forward to see how it behave when battery dies. But so far it's great and fair product for the price. Yes, the red bands may fall out so a little pinch of glue on it doesn't hurt, no excuse to give a bad rate since my point of view, great product for the price, people expecting high end fob go to the dealer to over pay then complain there if something gets wrong.

It's doesn't work

1st one I ordered had a defective transponder, but I already cut the key so could not return it. Kept the fob though as it had better range than the OEM Ford fob. Second one I ordered worked perfectly, was able to program it easily. Buying two was still cheaper than paying dealer prices, but still gets lower stars for first defective transponder.

Nice looking key as shown in picture. Expect it to have an about 10-20ft range. Otherwise, does what it's intended for.

This review is from the stand point of a person with a lack of deep knowledge of electronics or vehicles.I would definitely recommend this product to any entry level consumer looking to purchase this type of device. Do not call a locksmith unless you want to spend unnecessary money. The remote was easy to disassemble to extract the key for cutting. Easy to reassemble. You can find videos on youtube explains how to get your vehicle into program mode to program your remote. The only thing that I found i dislike is that the signal doesn't reach the vehicle over 50 feet. My only complaint. 1 helpful tip, give the spring 2 turns during the reassembly.

I like the look of it. No one around here would cut the key for me. Was super easy to program, but it doesn't work very well. I have to be right at my car to lock or unlock my car and the unlock only works sometimes after you push the button 10+ times. I would not recommend

Works for both 2007 and 2012 Ford Escape, I was able to program it myself using Forscan software, then I used some YouTube videos te get the remote programmed. The only downside is the lack of instructions on how to remove the key from remote to get it cut. I almost screwed it up trying to remove this. Also, one key had dead battery.
