The best device to bridge the gap between phone VR and regular VR
The media could not be loaded. Before I start, I would just like to mention that I was given this headset as a review unit from Merge. This review, however, will be my own opinions and feelings about the product and are not there simply to promote it.First things first, this headset is very close to the perfect combination. What I mean by that is when you look at many types of VR rigs on the market from google cardboard to the oculus rift, A simple way to describe it is a bridge between the two. Merge VR has a great build quality and a lot more professional features but offers the simplicity and ease of cardboard. Basically all you have to do is launch a virtual reality app, slide your phone in, and enjoy. Now like I just said, the build is great, but if you thought this was made of a very hard material, it deceiving, but it's not. Actually, the entire exterior of the device is foam. This offers a lot more comfort when wearing and generally makes it a lot lighter which means: first, it’s less bulky, and second, it doesn't weigh you down as you're using it. On the topic of comfort, they also supply an optional head band which makes the experience even better. If you are a person who uses the cardboard camera app as well, that piece in the bottom left corner does come out.One feature they implemented that I have never seen anywhere else is the ability to adjust the lenses to how far apart your eyes are. This may not mean much to you, but you would be surprised how useful this feature is. The tops of both sliders are where merge places the buttons to be able to interact with many of the games and other apps.So the most important part of any VR unit is the picture, and I gotta say, it’s pretty great. There is a good amount of clarity, and it’s very nice to look at for a few minutes. Make sure you take note that the merge looks the best on larger phones with a 1080p display or higher. If you have a smaller phone, you will see the edges and is not nearly as immersive. I did try to use many smaller smartphones, and I can tell you that this definitely did come as a problem.Overall, I would totally recommend Merge VR. There are a lot of nice implementations that make this more than just a basic headset. If you have the money, and you want a great phone VR experence, you should totally pick one up for yourself.

IF YOU HAVE AN iPhone 6 PLUS DO NOT BUY THESE
Being an industrial designer I was drawn to these goggles over others for various reasons including, the soft material used, ease of use, and simplicity. The lens quality is great compared to other headsets I've tried. When I first tired these out I was really happy with how immersed I felt and by how comfortable the goggles are. I did however notice two tiny spots of light coming through from the top where the lens slider buttons are. This wasn't a huge deal however it did take away from the total immersion experience. I'm using my iPhone 6 plus with the goggles and one of the reasons I chose this product was because of the video on their website showing a 6 plus being used with it.The phone is snug going in and coming out but the goggles really are not built for the iphone 6 plus. I've been using my goggles for close to a month and the edges where the phone gets inserted are tearing. I treat this product with great care and am certain that I was not being rough with it. If not for the tearing I would have been happy giving the goggles a 5 star review. If you have a smaller phone these may be the goggles for you but IF YOU HAVE AN iPhone 6 PLUS DO NOT BUY THESE. If you have a phone similiar in size to the 6 plus, do not buy this! To make matters worse, I reached out to Merge using their support email listed on their website... after all they boast a 1 year warranty on the product I've owned for 3 weeks. So the support email bounced back with an error message "The email account that you tried to reach does not exist" So I tried the other email listed on their website and received the same message. I've also tried sending a message through their website directly and have no idea if that even went through. Fortunately Amazon allows returns up to 30 days so if I don't hear from them soon, I will be sending these back through Amazon.

High quality VR headset
I purchased this VR headset on May 26, and the package arrived one day earlier than expected in excellent condition. I thought the packaging was very sleek and the instructions were easy to follow. The headset has straps that go both around and over the top of your head, and I appreciated the fact that all straps are easily adjustable to fit pretty much any head size. The mask is not heavy, and it's extremely comfortable to wear. One of the best features, in my opinion, is that even if you wear glasses, you can still fit the mask on your eyes over the glasses and get a perfect fit--my husband wears glasses, and I've included a couple of photos of him using the goggles over them without any problem. There is also a slot on the side of the goggles where you can plug headphones into your device. I had no trouble inserting and removing my iPhone 6 from the main slot, even with my phone's thin case on. The goggles are perfectly responsive to my adjusting the lens for clarity, selecting a button, and moving my head for navigation. There is a nice variety of games, videos, and experiences to try out on the website (our favorites so far are Rogue One and Lion King's Circle of Life), the technology is fascinating, and the visual quality is excellent. My one concern the first time I tried the goggles was that I got bad motion sickness after just a few minutes of wearing them, and I was afraid I wouldn't be able to enjoy them any more. However, my husband, who does have a bit of a tendency toward motion sickness, tried them out and had no trouble at all, even after 15 minutes, so I gave it another go. This time I watched videos and played games for about 15 minutes and had absolutely no issues with motion sickness whatsoever. I suspect that my problem the first time was just user error as I was becoming familiar with the goggle's features and how to adjust the lenses for a clear picture. So all in all, I give this product a big thumbs up for a great performance and user-friendly experience.
