GoldPlug1/8"-27 NPT Industrial Magnetic Stainless Steel Drain Plug (External Head) IP-01X - 10mm Hex Head, 0.64″ OAL

I really wanted this to work but it kept leaking. I've used Gold Plugs on other vehicles but never one of the pipe thread ones. I tried tightening it beyond what the stock plug required but this plug always leaked just a bit. I tried adding PTFE tape but it just didn't seem right so I compared to he stock one, see photo. I made them both so the thread minor diameters are at the same height. Where the major diameters line up, the gold plug minor diameter is smaller. That's why it leaks. Put the stock one back in and it's leak free with little torque. Manufacturer was of no help when contacted.
