you stick the metal pointed end one on each side of the hat and the you put the hat on adjust it to your comfort. I love it. save from buying another hat. it is easy good luck.

Yes, very easily. They are adequately long and did not fit against my face.

It’s a thin cord. They didn’t all stay tight but a couple did and I only needed one. So it worked for me.
