Q: I know it says thornless but are these also podless male cultivars?

Honeylocust are "polygamodioecious" trees meaning that each tree has either male or female flowers, but each tree also produces some "perfect" flowers that have both male and female parts. "Podless" honeylocust trees are male trees that tend to produce few perfect flowers. There is no way to tell from by looking at a seed whether it will grow a male or female plant, (Nor any way to tell until it reached sexual maturity, ie, the flowering stage.) Out of the 10 seeds, there are likely to be both male & female plants that result. Thank you!
