John Wayne
Hurricane Express' While I have not seen this movie, I am sure that it has to be great since John Wayne is in it. This movie is to be a gift and I know, since they like John Wayne movies, they will enjoy it.Product update.I played this movie to see what it was about. It is a twelve part move that is about three hours long, and it is a serial series that would run in theaters on the weekends or the type of serial series that those who can remember, would run on TV on Saturday's.Then, in those days, when watching, they would leave you with suspense as to what happen with the actor, actors. To find out you would have to go back to the theater on Saturday, or if it were the television, turn in to see if the actors survived the incident.I found watching this to bring back memories of those days and with this movie, to try and see if I could guess who the person was that was responsible for causing the trains to crash. When watching this, seeing the actor take what one might consider to be a fatal fall and then seeing the next sequence only to find out that he, or she survived the incident, with what appears to be no injuries at all, kind of makes one laugh; but in those days this was entertainment and was enjoyable to watch.

I laughed, I cried, and I can't believe that John Wayne was SO Good Lookin'!!!!
An amazing story about romance, technology and dealing with change. Wonderful storyline about the conflicts between the passenger rail business and the new air transport business, wrapped in ego driven corporate greed. Also a couple of love interests and Mission Impossible disguises figure into the plot. Also, lots of car chases!!! This has everything we see today, just in a wonderfully low-tech presentation. You have to see it just for the historical perspective this film presents. Note that it originally was a serial storyline, so sometimes it gets a little choppy.

Not Perfect But Best Video Version Yet
This review is for the March 22, 2022 DVD release from Hermitage Hill Media, LLC. All previous dated reviews on this page are for older and lesser quality DVD versions from Echo Bridge, Passport, Alpha and others. I've owned three of those prior DVD releases and although far from perfect this one from Hermitage definitely surpasses all three of those in quality.I've only subtracted one star because even although it's advertised as a 2K scan from a film print, that film print isn't in the best condition. No amount of digital processing or the highest quality transfer is going to make it look pristine. The film print appears to be a rather flat contrast, details sometimes washed out in long shots 16mm copy of one of the original 16mm reduction prints, probably duped in the 1960's or 1970's for the home collector's market. Barring the possibility of somebody finding some better 16mm or 35mm elements, this is quite likely the best we'll ever see though. I should also mention that this is not a pressed DVD but instead a DVD+R DL dual layer dye based burned media disc. These have been proven to be more subject to failure over time and in my opinion an inferior format that should be mentioned on all seller listings for DVD and Blu-ray media as well on the packaging. So just don't be expecting the kind of stellar DVD and Blu-ray serial quality we've seen recently from VCI and Kino and you'll probably be pleased with this release. It's one of the better Mascot serials and can provide over four hours of fun for serial fans, early John Wayne fans and railfans. Thanks to Hermitage for making it available.

Hurricane Express (Passion Productions DVD)
Terrible quality. Scenes are either bleached out (faces are featureless) or too dark. And talk about fuzzy! Vertical lines periodically make an appearance - single, multiple, white and black. Audio hisses at the beginning but gets marginally better which isn't saying much as it's so very poor to begin with. At times you can't make out what the actors are saying.Save your money, folks. Even a die hard John Wayne fan like myself feels like a fool for ordering from a company called Passion Productions (a division of PMC Corp). If you can purchase it for 99 cents go ahead but that's all it's worth.

The Early Years
This is the only DVD I've found that shows the 3 Serials that he did as true serials (12 chapters each)....A MUST for the John Wayne collector! These are not westerns....he plays the part of a pilot in each one, but there is typical John Wayne action involved.

Wayne before "Stagecoach."
This is an edited version of what was originally a 12-part serial starring John Wayne in his pre-"Stagecoach" days. The movie itself is nothing special, but seeing Wayne so young (he was 25 when this was made) makes it worth watching.

Umtausch möglich!
Ich hatte ebenfalls eine defekte Versions des Film. Habe daraufhin bei der Herstellerfirma MiB angerufen und der Film wurde anstandslos umgetauscht.
