Fun and gentle romance that slow burns in the best way
A lovely meet-cute that gets disrupted by an unfortunate job situation. Hayley has to fix a failing resort, but has tsken the job from the competent and driven Olivia.Emotional boomerangs abound in the best way!Spoiler:My ONLY complaint is how swiftly it goes to angst to pain to solving the issue. It feels a little... too fast. And some threads are mentioned as "needing discussing" but the epilogue shows all is fine. Having a couple of lines of dialogue to resolve the misunderstandings in narrative would have been good. That's the only issue and its a minor one for me - the rest of the book was lovely, the characters fun and the whole setting just so evocative and well laid outWell worth your time!

Another lovely story
This is another lovely story by a great writer. I’d delayed getting this after reading a rather negative review but knowing the quality of Georgia Beers’ books I decided to buy it anyway, and it turned out to be one of the nicest among her recent stories in my opinion. It’s definitely perfect reading for the Christmas holidays :)

One very quick walk, where not much happens
Winter... gorgeous scenery... log fires... wooly hats.. and potential lost. I give it to Georgia - she can depict a scene so wonderfully that you really feel part of the atmosphere. However, these characters felt like slightly less favourable carbon copies of some of her other stronger titles. Needed padding out more - a bit more tension, not such a lightning zap of a resolve, less fluff and more christmas sparkle. The cutest feature was G popping her own dog front and centre as the main doggy character. He gets 3 stars.

A book to warm the frostiest of hearts
I loved this book, I have yet to come across a Georgia beers book I didn't like. I like Olivia, love Christmas time and this just got me right into the Christmas spirit. I found the characters easy to connect with. Just a lovely romance to put you in the mood for love, for christmas, for both

Lovely heart-warming winter romance
‘One Walk In Winter’ by Georgia Beers is that perfect combination of idyllic setting, feel-good romance and a beautiful ending that had me sighing in contentment. Olivia has worked hard to get where she is in her career, but the top job has eluded her so far. Corporate America hasn’t got past the old boy network and it shows in the lack of innovation and ideas at the Evergreen Spa Resort. When a new and inexperienced manager turns up to take the job Olivia thinks should be hers, she finds it hard to keep her displeasure to herself. Hayley is the seemingly irresponsible youngest child of the Markham clan. When her father gives her a last chance to prove herself, she has no choice but to give it a shot. Especially since he’s cut off her allowance. But Hayley is an artist at heart and finds it difficult to be the person her father wants her to be. An encounter in the woods with a beautiful woman lifts her spirits - but when they both realise the truth, it’s never going to be easy.I really liked Olivia. She was conscientious, determined and great at her job. She was a people person and perfect for the job. I wanted her to find love too though, as that side of her life had been put on hold while she concentrated on her career. Her family were supportive and her mother was a gem. Hayley had an uphill struggle, however hard she tried. Forcing someone to be what you want is not a good idea in any scenario. She blossomed when she was out in the countryside taking photos. Her heart soared when she painted. Seeing the two women get to know each other properly - after the initial wow intro - was beautiful. It was never just a chemical reaction between them - there was so much more. It was bout knowing what you really want, and more importantly, what you need. It was about healing and love and passion. A truly heat-warming story. I loved it.I was given this ARC for review.

Charming romance from one of the best
Excellent romance, as ever from the wonderful pen of Georgia Beers. Well drawn characters, a delightful interfering mother, a gorgeous dog, some plot angst as well as the romance, all set in the scenario of a failing hotel and winter in the woods. Ms Beers is an expert at setting a scene and using all the senses to transport you into the heart of the novel. Both women have things to prove and axes to grind, both need to do some growing, and all set against the issue, however low key it’s played, of women not being taken seriously in business, or daughters by their fathers. Charming reading from one of the best.

Charming
It was a sweet book, easy reading but it just had something missing... I found it romantic and charming and loved the winter element especially as I love skiing. 4 out of 5.
