Awesome
I bought this as a gift for my son and he's loving it. Just before Christmas he started getting interested in all the different states, and this atlas fuels that interest so well. It has such great information with nice pictures on each page. I am so glad I found this and know it will be used for years to come!

Lots of Great Information for Kids
This book is filled with great photos and information on all kids of things. I love reading it to my kids and how much they want to learn from all the info inside. Even though it was published a few years ago, it is still relevant today.

Error in facts
Nice atlas but not 100% accurate. It says California is the largest state in The West which includes Alaska. Accuracy is especially important in a kid's publication. Can't find anywhere to report it to National Geographic.

Best I’ve seen
Wanted this for my grands. So well done. So much to see in various formats as a full view of the country: climate, natural hazards, population, physical (mountains for example), people on the move, etc Then brief write up on the individual states, state flower, stats related to each state…states sorted by region. Beautiful visuals. Extremely well done!

National Geo hardcover childrens books are a sign high quality educational material still exists!
The fact that there are still kids hardcover books in this generation reminds us National Geographic is interested in high quality resources.Since the 1960's my parents first choice for educational everything was National Geographic my mother's ,born in 1922,highschool science teacher in southern Alabama won a teacher of the year award in your magazine in the 70's,then my parents always sent our children the National Geographic KIDS colorful magazine, and now in this generation my iraqi born american husband who also grew up reading the Middleeastern National Geographic,no surprise to me since middleeasterners love to read, and I,are also raising our children ,both of whom graduated from the University of Michigan, with National Geographic TV specials, your picture books and your magazines.

Excellent Way to explore the US
I didn't buy this for a child. I bought it for me, a 73 year old. This National Geographic book is excellent in teaching us about the states, the capitals and the major cities. I know so much more now than I did before about each state. I love this book. Also I purchased the National Geographic Book of the World and I have really loved that! I've learned so much I never knew and now I can match countries to the areas that they inhabit. SO INTERESTING!
