German Precision Makes the Difference
My wife and I were so tired of drugstore trimmers and their worthless misaligned nippers, sloppy joints and easily broken jaws. So I decided to spring for these trimmers (they cost more than drugstore trimmers) and see if we could finally have a dependable set for trimming cuticles, nails and pieces of skin. The pivot joint was the first thing I checked and it was both aligned properly and rotated smoothly. Then I looked at the jaws. Again, aligned for proper cutting and very sharp. So the final check was on their operation. My wife commented on their ease of cutting and the fact that she could get into a corner for precisely cutting cuticles back. So we were both happy. These clippers do the job...dj

Exactly what I was looking for!
I needed to replace my Hoffritz brand nipper (FYI-I've had these for decades). Most everything I found was sub-par. Then, I searched for 'best nail nippers' and found Germanikure. I went to their website and read the descriptions of the various types and grades of nippers. Awesome info! I went with the one recommended for standard home use. And guess what, they are made in Solingen Germany too! And with the exception of the latch that held the Hoffritz closed, they look identical. Same for their performance. SO HAPPY!

The absolute tool
I am in love with my tool. I use it since 2021. It still didn't get dull, precise cutting and just pleasure to use. Unfortunately, the springs broke after 1.5 years of use , which is ok. I contacted seller to see if there is any warranty. They replied withing 12 hrs or less. And sent me the replacement part. Now I can use my tool again.

BAD QUALITY
I see all 5 star reviews which is interesting since mine completely broke after having them a few months and hardly using them. I have many other nippers so I used these a few times and also they were VERY hard to squeeze while using- - and I don't have arthritis or anything that would impact my use of them, but my hand was very sore after. And after using a few times- no more than 5, one of the inner springs (the two pieces that click together in the center) snapped off and flew across the room. It flew off as if it was made of soft tin. Ridiculous.I passed the return date and hate returning things, such a waste of time and now money.

Broken spring
broken spring and no way to replace it. This is an avoidable problem. It would be easy for the manufacturer to provide replacement spring parts as they are easily replaced with one screw.

Works well, but the spring was pre-broken
This is the second such cuticle nipper I have bought. The first one was and still is flawless. The second one, reviewed here, arrived with a broken spring. The spring with a single tooth had lost its tooth, and so no longer mates with the other spring, which has two teeth, between which the single toot is to fit. The break is clean, and the broken surface rough, but no sign of bending. It appears that the spring was hardened by never properly tempered, rendering the spring metal glass-hard and brittle. So, I'll be needing some properly-tempered replacement springs, from the spring manufacturer of some years ago.Update (17 July 2022): I contacted GERmanikure directly (at < [email protected]>), and requested under warrantee a replacement set of springs, which have now been installed, and all is well. GERmanikure says that these new springs are of a new design that will resolve the problem. We'll see if they hold up and report back. For the record, the screw that holds spring to nipper handle is metric, requiring a flat screwdriver blade 3.5mm wide, and has the standard slot width for 3.5mm screwdrivers.
