The Dwarfs fourth and final offering
While admittedly, I am not the biggest Killer Dwarfs fan, this album really disappointed me overall. While it's not terrible or anything, it doesn't really leave a long impression either.Killer Dwarfs were well-known as a party rock band that styled their sound after the LA bands of the day. This album follows that pattern pretty close, but "Method to the Madness" is drenched in slow-mid tempo tracks. I don't mind a good ballad as well as the next fellow, but come on guys. I did like a couple tracks though, but it just couldn't pull up the rest of the album.I guess if you're a completist like me, you'll wanna get this album. But be warned, this is slightly more laid back than previous offerings by this band.

is a good album, but one of the weaker Killer Dwarfs ...
Method to the Madness, is a good album, but one of the weaker Killer Dwarfs albums for sure. There is an over abundance of power ballads on this album, there are 3 or 4 as a matter of fact. The only good one being "Drifting Back" while the others which are "Four Seasons" and a re-release of "Doesn't Matter" which I'm not a fan of that song. However the heavier songs on the album are great, with the album starting off to "Hard Luck Town" which is awesome, "Just As Well" which is alright, generic mostly, "Drifting Back" as stated earlier is a slower, ballad, but an okay one. "All My Heroes" which is generic sounding as well, but alright. "Stranger Than Fiction" picks up the pace a bit and is an all around good song. Four Seasons, is bad, in my opinion anyway, generic slow ballad. Then the title track "Method to the Madness" comes after and is awesome. "Give and Take" is alright, along with "Look Around" and "Goodbye to Yesterday", then the album ends after "Cowboys and Conmen" which has the same feel as "Hard Luck Town" or even "Desperados" from their "Big Deal" album. Doesn't Matter comes up after that but who care honestly? Overall it's a good album, but a lot of it sounds generic but the tracks, "Hard Luck Town", "Just As Well", "Stranger Than Fiction", "Method to the Madness", and "Cowboys and Conmen" save it. If you can find it for a reasonable price get it, but if you're a big fan of the Dwarfs, like me, just get it to round out your collection. 4/5
