JavaScript: A Beginner's Guide, Fifth Edition

Not written for beginners
A good textbook for beginners should include a lot of context so students know WHY they’re doing what they’re doing. This textbook does not do that. It’s just a lot “here’s a function, here’s a string, here’s a loop” without explaining exactly why these things are used the way they are used. Maybe someone with more advanced JavaScript knowledge would “get it.” But as an actual beginner, none of it made sense to me.

Good book to learn the fundamentals of Javascript
I just finished reading the fourth edition of this same book. I bought my copy back in late Sept 2019 and enjoyed reading and learning from this book. I’ve been in Infrastructure and Application support since 2002 but I want to learn how to code with Javascript. It's a great book, I just wished I would have known there was a new edition coming out in Nov. If there's something out there that helps with pointing out the updates that were made from the fourth edition to the fifth edition please share. I would recommend this book to anyone wanting to learn the fundamentals of Javascript in theory and practice. Blessings
