Connecting Threads Essential Cotton Thread 5000 Yard Cone Set of 2 (Silver)

While thread is not exciting to most people, I am a sewing enthusiast, and so thread is exciting to me. After a successful hand surgery, I am able to sew again! I find that I am going through an enormous amount of thread making things. I tried Connecting Threads as a way to get some more bang for my buck since my local retailers (big box stores) do have thread, the value is not great. I am so happy that I tried Connecting Threads! 100% cotton thread does make an enormous difference in how my machine sews. I have yet to find anything that I dislike about the thread! Having said that, I will address the elephant in the room: the size of the 5000 yard thread cone. It does not fit on my machine, but I purchased a stand alone thread holder that is working very well. I'll be purchasing from Connecting Threads again, probably soon!Update: I have made both a queen and a king sized quilt in addition to multiple small projects, and I'm still not quite halfway through the first cone of thread. There has been NO breakage, no snags, and no problems whatsoever. I stand by my original review that this is an excellent product for both quality and value.

Amazing quality for the price and the amount of thread on the cone is great for quilt making. I like that this thread will last a while.

It's hard to find cotton thread, particularly of a good quality. This thread is not too heavy, seems to be just the perfect weight and feel. I always find great products from Connecting Threads.

I prefer 50wt thread, but this thread seems to quilt up nicely.

I have used a number of their spools with no issues for over a year. I placed an order for two cones and they kept breaking as I was quilting. I thought it was my machine and went though the steps to try to find if I was doing something wrong, swapped out the cones and I even went to use another machine of mine and the very same thing happened breakage. Do I went out and bought Clark’s thread and aurfil thread yesterday and no breakage at allI can’t recommend this thread for machine use

I will be buying more because I quilt a lot. Great for piecing and quilting.
