PREMIUM MATERIALS, 100% MADE IN THE USA: The original Mordax was one of Ferrum Forge’s most popular designs. Usually the custom knife shop only makes limited batches of each knife—but thanks to our strong partnership and the Massdrop community’s demonstrated interest in their work, we’re bringing the Mordax back, this time with a few key changes to make it even better. The original Mordax was made from titanium; here, we chose super lightweight aluminum scales to make it even more pocket friendly. For the blade, we stuck with what worked: premium CPM-20CV stainless steel with exceptional edge retention and corrosion resistance. HEAVYWEIGHT STATURE, LIGHTWEIGHT CONSTRUCTION: Measuring 8. 25 inches long, the Mordax is our largest project yet with the San Diego–based Williamson brothers of Ferrum Forge. Despite its size, the knife weighs less than 4 ounces thanks to the aluminum scales. That lean construction makes it easy to control in tight spaces—not to mention there’s a finger choil for choking up if the job requires it. The 3. 6-inch drop-point blade is as versatile as they come, whether you need to slice through cardboard, cut twine, or prepare food. Fitted with a deep-carry stainless steel pocket clip, the knife keeps a low profile. ABOUT CPM-20CV STAINLESS STEEL: CPM-20CV can withstand wear under the most demanding circumstances. Developed by Crucible Industries (one of the leading manufacturers of specialty steels for the cutlery industry), it’s made through a process known as Crucible Powdered Metallurgy, which results in near perfect consistency in the distribution of carbides. Compared to conventional melting practices, the CPM process produces a steel characterized by superior dimensional stability, grindability, and toughness. Nearly identical in chemical makeup to M390 and CTS-204P stainless steel, CPM-20CV is known for its impressive ability to hold an edge and high resistance to corrosion.

High Quality Knife, with Great Features
This is a great collaboration with 3 will known knife enthusiasts. Drop, Protech and Ferrum Forge. This is based on their popular Mordax model. I like this better than the original Ferrum Forge Mordax. The detent, being a button lock, is perfect. Super smooth deployment and fantastic lockup with the button lock feature. Easy tonunlo k with the simple press of the button and it falls free to shut easily. Great one handed opening, and fantastic steel for edge retention and durability. The choice of frame options and colors only enhance this already great knife.

Pro-Tech + Ferrum Forge + Drop = WINNER!!!
My first button lock and I must say I am impressed. Push the button and the blade drops freely into the handle. Two way deployment of the blade, (with flipper or depressing button lock and a little flick of the hand), are both butter smooth. Of course the CPM20CV steel blade is top shelf. It is about the same size as the Super Freek shown in the picture I provided but noticeably lighter. Only two downsides; it is not lefty friendly and the price (EXPENSIVE), but if you can spring it...get it. You won’t be disappointed. I believe this will be my new EDC, 😎👍

I absolutely love this knife!
The Ferrum Forge Mordax is an excellent EDC knife. It offers you two different ways to deploy the blade, either with the flipper tab, or the button lock and a little wrist English. It's a larger size knife when open, but takes up very little pocket space when closed. The milled titanium handle makes this knife extremely lightweight. The stonewashed blade will help camouflage slight scratches. The large forward finger choil will give you nice purchase when choking on on the blade for finer work. It's a tough knife designed for multiple tasks and should last you a lifetime with proper maintenance.

Third Mordax and doesn’t disappoint - amazing
Another incredibly smooth button lock action folder. This is the third Mordax for me and each of the knives are consistent in quality, action and the incredibly useful blade profile. The milled handle can use a little more de-honing since there are. Few hot spots however that detail will not detract from the fact this a edc friendly, ultra grippy and slender light weight folder to meet all tasks expected of a folding knife.

ProTech dropped the ball.
I’m actually surprised the ProTech name is on this. The 3 that I’ve handled were all off center, and horrible blade grinds. I own numerous ProTechs and they are all perfect. Hopefully they will correct those issues on the next run(s).I will say that the action is pretty fun.

Great knife you won’t regret it
This is a great edc knife . Lightweight and amazing action . Best steel available . Little overpriced so I returned mine and got it somewhere cheaper but the knife itself is amazing

OVERPRICED???
The price is a little on the high side...but honestly it is worth it IMO. The blade steel is a good steel, the overall build quality is incredible. Most of all though this is one of the best "fidgeting" type of knives to play around with.

Ferrum Forge + ProTech = 💯
Ferrum Forge designed, built by ProTech. Great steel, great design. Push button lock! Great flipping action. Thought the knife was a little big when I first got it. But it’s quickly becoming a main in my rotation.
