in the ad, it states that polycrystalline is more ...
in the ad, it states that polycrystalline is more efficient than mono. it is actually the reverse. mono crystalline is made from a higher grade silicone ingot.

Good for emergencys
I bought this plug and play generator for emergency. It arrived in two seperate orders. No problem because the dealer e-mailed me to let me know before hand. It charges up well in the sun. About the same amount of time it took charging on ac current plugged in. I thought I would be able to charge other battery operated items such as rechargabe flashlight, tools ect...But you can't. It clearly states in the instruction manual that there are alot of things(battery operated) that you can't charge with this generator. And you can't leave it out in the rain. Again it clearly states that in the instruction manual.Whats it good for? Lights. It will run several plug in house lamps for close to 40 hours. I know I tried it out. You can plug in your lap top but it will drain the power (recharging the lap top) in about 7hours.It's good to keep the lights on.I will purchase a bigger unit come this fall to run a coffee maker small t.v ect...I would say its good to have even if you can only use it for your lights. Beats using candles.

Junk!
A waste of money!!! 35 hours initial charge required. Then takes days to recharge via solar. Doesn't last long. If I still had the box it would go back!

simple easy to use, short battery life
So far I recommend it. Its compact and really is "plug n play". We live in New Orleans where power outage is normal. I have tried a fan- box type, a small TV and my sons xbox. All can work for about 2 hours solid before drains power to "alert signal". I would like it to last longer- like 4 hours, but it will help in a jam. It for sure can't supply a microwave, or big appliance. We tried, and it alarmed out right away. I want to try a small freezer on it and it see if it can keep it frozen. I will most likely buy another one of the same and use them both for power outages and hurricane season.

portable solar generator
i think this one is great i use it when i go camping to keep a fan going also it runs my little tv and lites its really great im saving up for a bigger one to run my refridgerator only gripe i have is the cords not long enough i wish i could find a place that could put a longer cord on it other than that its a reallly good generator for camping or when power goes out for smaller elctronics

advertising that polycrystalline more efficient than monocrystalline? really?
I don't own this product, but saying polycrystalline is more efficient than monocrystalline is very misleading and inaccurate at best.

Very handy to have!
I primarily purchased this battery as a back-up system when the power goes out (which seems to happen at least once per quarter where I live). It works very well for this purpose. The battery surprisingly can power a lot of things at once - I have had my laptop, printer and wireless router plugged into it and it had enough juice to sustain those three items during light use for over 24 hours.I like that I have the solar panel in my window ciel and just leave it connected to the battery when I am not using it. The set-up works very well for me. My one concern in the life span of this battery, which is usually not long for batteries. Hope to get at least 3-5 years out of it. I will update how long this thing lasts

After first charge, not doing so well....
We're struggling with this. We bought it to power a holiday lights display in an area with no power. The first night, after the 36 hour initial full charge, it worked GREAT! We got 4 hours of light before we manually shut it down, and it was only at about half capacity at that point. We're running 8 100-light LED strands using 9.2 watts each for a total draw of 73.6 watts per hour. We put it to solar charge, and given it's winter, it's probably drawing all of about 4-5 good hours of solar charge per day. Second night, it powered the lights for one hour. Not good. Took the battery pack home and charged for 9.5 hours on AC. That powered the light display all of 2 hours before dying. Really not good. That would indicate 9.5 hours of charge is producing about 150 watts of power. Today, we're testing on an overnight charge of 20 hours. I think we have some sort of capacity problem with the battery packs - they don't seem to be able to charge adequately, on solar or AC, mere days later after initial use.
