Wow! As a fellow author as well as a fellow friend in recovery, I cannot tell you how poignant and needed books with both the underbelly of addiction AND the message of hope. Mike and Riley this book is a message of experience, strength, and hope! I have published a poetry book with a publishing company out of LA a couple years back, and I know how incredible it feels to have people truly enjoy your blood sweat and tears that go into what most call a book, but we as authors know is truly a labor of love. Mike I hope that you find the calm anxiety free day a plenty and that every single day is another in this beautiful life we are BLESSED AND miraculously still living when we wrestle away from the depths and grips of addiction. When you told that short story about your book, speaking of being too tweaked to leave your bathroom to help your ailing grandfather I felt that twinge of anxious recollection of the horrific things we do and the desperation of rock bottom we build up our lives on. Bravo! Congrats! What a read!

I just finished the Prelude and I was compelled to leave a review immediately.I can tell you that I had high expectations going into this book and I can honestly say that I’m so blown away for so many reasons already.The way the prelude is written is so powerfully visceral...I felt like I was watching a movie or that I was having a deep conversation with one of my best friends. What I was most impressed by was the use of factual information about the opioid crisis in conjunction with the timeline of mikes early life and where he was while the crisis was initiated and progressed.I have no doubt that the rest of the book will be just as compelling. I want to thank mike for sharing details such as he did with the razor blade for example, I know there’s much more to come. I’m sure having the world be aware of even that is very hard but the only way some people will be able to understand the hold that those drugs have on a person is to really hear how far a human will truly go in that state of mind.Can’t wait for the rest

My brother was addicted to opioids for 7 years. Similar to Mikes story, he miraculously overcame his addiction and now works everyday to maintain his sobriety and build his life back.Although someone very close to me almost lost their life to this pandemic, as someone who has never struggled with addiction, it’s hard to fully relate to the opioid crisis. From first-hand experience, all I really know is that opioids take a human being and turn them into a different type of species.. unrecognizable as the human you once knew.Reading the first two chapters of Mike’s story allowed me to see through the lenses of an addict on a more personal scale. It allowed me to relate to my brother realistically, rather than idealizing what I *think* his addiction looked like. From the outside looking in, it’s easy to sugar coat the problem. But from the inside looking out, the problem feels like an inescapable black hole. As Mike highlights, it’s rare that people actually make their way out of the black hole.Whether you know someone who struggles with opioid addiction, you struggle with the addiction yourself, or you’re just a big Logan Paul fan who has found yourself interested in Mike’s story- you need to read this book.Thank you, Mike, for creating content that is relatable, heart-warming, and inspiring. Crying tears of sadness and joy. I watch Mike every week on every platform that he (or Logan) post. I watch because their banter is funny but most of all just because of Mike. I am sincerely one of his biggest fans because he puts it all out there for people like me, who can relate to his story. The first chapter produced tears of sadness, because I too have been in very similar situations, let myself go to a place that I don’t recognize as having within me now. A disgusting existence that feels so routine that its only once your out that you really see the agony you were once in. But I am lucky, like Mike, that I am out. That’s where chapter 2 hit me in the balls (yes, I am a woman) and tears poured out of me. I remember all of my moments of deep reflection, where I felt overwhelmed with the stark differences of my “new” life vs. the “old.” Sadness and Joy and regret and being proud of myself all at the same time. Wow! I sincerely, cannot wait to order and read this book, and to cleanse my soul of the deep emotions I have fought to overcome for so long. Thank you, to Mike, for writing this!

Please continue to be a beacon of hope and positivity for those of us battling addiction trying our hardest to scratch and claw to get our lives back. You're empowering those of us found in the same pitfalls of despair, you not only managed to navigate yourself out of, but reach the very top of the mountain. Only an addict can be fully capable of understanding such accomplishments. Your story is motivation for me to not not rewrite my story, but move on to my next chapter. THANK YOU!

it’s not very often you watch a youtuber and you know deep down they are authentic and a beautiful soul. I knew before reading this book that mike was a good human but now? now i’m 110% positive. love u Mike

Very insightful for those who are fans of Mike. Can't wait for the Fifth Vital it looks like it's gonna be a compelling tale about addiction and suffering and the events that lead up to his recovery. I can listen to Mike's voice on podcasts for hours without it getting boring. I love his witty sense of humour and ability to talk in about things in a very real way. Looking forward to reading May 5th! 👌

Just what I expect. Can't wait for the whole thing. I really enjoyed looking into this messed up life. Worth the time. And so worth the wait. As someone who has been following his story. This sneak peak gave me what to wanted.
