Does Not Work/Items Missing
No CD. No Rs232 Cable. Software does not get thru Boot up. Displays " verifying packages" .Expensive piece of Junk. Since it has no manual adjustments other than focus, it is useless when the cheap controller doesn't work.

Good purchase. Potentially great.
This is an initial hack at a review based on two brief observing sessions. It has either been too cold, too cloudy, or both since I received my telescope. First of all, the eyepieces arrived the day before the telescope, and were exactly as expected. The quality of the eyepieces and filters appears to be excellent. The telescope arrived in perfect condition. It was easy to set up. The instruction manual is fairly comprehensive and easy to follow. The first clear night, I set the telescope up shortly after sunset. By following the two star alignment (Aldebaran and Vega) I was able to align the system on the first try in about seven minutes. I was able to view the Orion Nebula and the Pleiades using the 25mm eyepiece. The cold and wind drove me indoors in about 15 minutes. The second night, I tried the two star auto-align where I selected Sirius for the first star, and the telescope skewed to a second star (I don’t recall which one) and all I had to do was center that star in the eyepiece and press “enter.” This alignment took less than five minutes. I was able to view Sirius, the Orion Nebula, the Mintaka double-star and Uranus. Using the 8mm eyepiece, The Mintaka double-star was clearly visible, and the bluish tint of Uranus was apparent. Using the 8mm eyepiece with the Barlow lens, the Orion Nebula filled up the field of view, was bright and clear, and some structure was visible.Work and weather have kept me from looking at any other solar system objects, but I will amend this review after I observe Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Venus and the Moon.I have to agree with a review I read about the telescope read from another vending source that the technology is a little bit disappointing. No USB ports? Celestron really need to update their hardware to at least enter the 21st century. Having said that, the optics, and ease of use are outstanding. I plan to add the SkyPortal WiFi module to my system. If it works well, I am willing to forgive what I said about the technology, and bump this rating up to 5 stars. I don’t really see any chance the rating will go down. I’m really happy with the purchase. I bought the 6 inch scope because it’s fairly portable.
