Highly recommended, plus its stylish!
Before buying I did some research on senor soap dispenser and simplehuman came up highly recommended. I wanted to find out for myself since I hated using a soap pump when my hands are dirty and decided to buy two of these, one with a caddy for the kitchen and one without for my main bathroom. This one with the caddy is detachable and can be used without the caddy -- it really just sits on a holder connected to the caddy.I have been using both daily for a while now (about two months) and both are still working wonderfully. I have changed the soap probably three times on this model (I do a lot of dishes and washes my hands a lot while cooking), but have yet to replace the batteries (four AA batteries, not included). The batteries goes in from the bottom, so I do recommend putting in the batteries before filling it up with soap. Filling the soap is simple and easy, you just have to remove the cap from the top and pour in the soap. I fill up this model with dawn soap and added water to thin it out, and it works pretty well. My other soap dispenser, I fill it with softsoap liquid hand soap and it works great. There are + / - buttons on top of the soap dispenser, which allows you to control the amount of soap it dispenses (a great soap saver feature). The liquid hand soap does dispense a bit more than the dawn soap since it is thinner.Overall, I love it! It is stylish and gives my house a modern appeal. You can clearly see the amount of soap you have, and the various soap color does accent the brushed nickel color well. I have many friends and relative who has visited and compliment on how nice it looks and works.-----------EDIT 4/21/16-----------After roughly 2-3 months of use I started to notice smaller/slower pumps then the soap started leaking from the base. I tried cleaning it out and letting it dry out for a few days before using it again, but it still continued to leaked. I contacted Amazon and got a replacement. I'm not sure why it started leaking since the one I bought for hand wash in the bathroom works perfectly fine. Anyway, I'm going to give this new one a try since it was working well before and I really enjoyed it. Hopefully I won't be disappointed. I will update if things goes south!

Want it to last more than a few months? Read on....
This thing is useful, sanitary, handy, looks good, has an adjustable dispense amount, has really good motion detection and I can't live without it. I laugh at my friends that use manual pumps or use a bottle.I use a 1:3 mixture of Dawn and water. 4oz of Dawn + 8oz of water. Use straight Dawn and it will last about 10 minutes. If you expect to use it for more than a few months you have to be prepared to do the steps outlined below. The product is built with a motor and other parts that are just barely powerful enough to do the job when it is brand new. Add some dried up gunk in the pump and around the motor/belt are and it just blinks red indicating you need to change the batteries when all it really needs is a good cleaning. You realize how useful it is once it stops working. This device gives you this realization very often. The first time you see the red blinking light, you might be able shake it around, add water, hold down the + sign and get it running again but it's just a matter of time until you need to clean it. The longer you wait the better chance the motor will rust and seize up.Here ya go (see attached images):1. Empty and rinse out the reservoir thoroughly. Remove the only 3 screws. Two under the base and one near the nozzle.2. Take it apart into three pieces. Remove the hose from the nozzle. Leave the battery compartment connected.3. Remove the belt and clean out all the gunk around the motor with water. Dry it thoroughly. I use compressed air. You can use a hair dryer or whatever. You have to get it 100% dry.4. Make sure the battery compartment is 100% dry.5. Hold down the + sign to be sure the motor turns w/o the belt on and run it for a while so it can dry out its internals. 30-60 sec.6. Manually turn the pump to be sure it's not seized. You'll see stuff moving in the hose. Make sure you're going the correct direction.7, Replace the belt (after cleaning and drying it). Add water to the reservoir. Hold down the + button to pump water thru the pump to clean it out. I do about 1/3 of the reservoir.8. Put it all back together and boom, you're good for another 6 weeks or so.I've had mine for almost 3 years and had to do this many times. It still works like new.

Good function Good looks
I was a bit put off by the price of this item but the company has a good rep for quality. It looks much better on my counter then the old (OXO Good Grips Stainless Steel Sink Caddy) item it replaces. Takes up less space and is less "busy" looking which suits me. I'm still getting use to the amount of soap delivered and the sensors range, not wanting to trigger a shot of soap inadvertently. That has happened a few times so I have been turning it off when not needing it. Almost sent a splash of soap into my salad the other day but the salad bowl did not trigger the device and I'm quite glad of that.Update 3-7-14; It developed a drip from the spout. Ocssionally would find a smallish glob of soap on the counter and could see the drip forming a couple of times, with the machine turned off. Sent it in for repair/replacement, they paid return shipping. Hope this won't recur.11-8-15 Final story: Apparently the adjustment rocker switch on top is not water proof, water got inside and rotted the electronics, into the garbage. How can an item for this kind of use on the kitchen counter not be waterproof? Bought a Grohe 40537000 Authentic Soap Dispenser, Small, Chrome, works fine, pure mechanical, stainless and good quality plastic, will likely last for ever. KDMKDM6-30-15 I can no longer recommend this item. After sending in the first dripping pump they sent the wrong one, no big deal. Sent that one in and the #3 replacement did not work at all. I was going to just toss it but decided to see if I could fix it and I did, there was a piece of debris in the pump itself, I cleared that and it was up and running. Now about 6-8 weeks later this one is dripping on the counter. Sorry, I have no more energy to play with or return it again. KDM
