In many ways, A desecration of the original movie....
yeah, it's fun, why not, beautiful bodies abound, of course, but in so many ways it was a real departure from the spirit of the original.....it starts out with a simulated sex scene under the covers with one of the main principles, so, right away, you know it is going to be quite different from the first one. Then, there is the cursing...the nudity.....hey, look, in it's proper time and place, I don't object to that, but this is a remake of a seminal movie which was addressing the onset of cultural changes that youth of America were going to have to deal with....and dealing with male gigolos was not one of them! ( Another departure in the movie )....And the music: a lot of made up songs that really had some false melodies.....of course, in the original you had the advantage of a singing star, in Connie Francis.....I guess I am just becoming more and more old fashioned, but I still gave it 3 stars because it did keep my interest for the whole movie.

Sort of old-fashioned movie...
Though this is a remake, it still seems sort of old-fashioned. It's a guilty pleasure, because I remembered it from my youth, and it has such a crazy, unrealistic, romantic twist to it. Typical drive-in movie, but with less nudity than you would expect from a movie of this type. It elicits good vibrations.

Party at 333
I like this product for I am able to relate to it , when I viewed it on Adelaide television I searched for a copy of it in the video stores but with no luck. Then in 1998 I was given a chance to visit the U.S.A. florida by the owner of the mansion where the pool party was held I lived in the house for four months and travelling around seeing the various places and sites of florida and getting to know their family and friends and even travelling to the Bahamas on their yacht the salty kangaroo the one you see cruising paste the rear of the mansion on the water way, I had a need to find a copy of the movie, after all I did clean the pool every day I was there.wouldn't it be good if they used the same place and made a remake after 30 yrs.KJS

Nothing but fun nostalgia silliness
I have not yet seen the original but I don't have to. This was the 1980s "me" decade of fun and adventures. This movie may not be blockbuster quality but it was a huge hit at the cinemas during release. Plenty of cute action moments. A typical wild spring break week for girl time fun. We loved it!

A Mindlessly Amusing 80's Romp
Not nearly as substantial as the original. This film has little more to offer than a mindless romp in the Florida sun in the early 1980's.Here I go again. I am prejudiced. I am both a Florida fiend and hopelessly nostalgic for the 1980's. That's all there is in this movie. It is otherwise totally forgettable. Nevertheless, it is fun. Not every movie tries or even should be a literary work of art.Fort Lauderdale of 1983, a few years before I got there for the first time myself! I can watch this movie over and over. It is another time capsule I love to open. There is the music, lots of early 80's rockabilly and synthesizer pop; the beautiful Fort Lauderdale locations, lots more than the original movie; and, of course, the boys! Oh, how I want the 80's back again! If you don't, then don't bother with this movie. Otherwise, just turn it on and enjoy a trip down memory lane, with a beachfront view.

Feel-good, mid '80s nostalgia
Of it's time in a mostly good way, this spring break beach and night-life movie should leave you a little happier than when you hit "play." This is a light-hearted comedy where everything turns out well in the end. The writing and acting are better than usual for this kind of movie. It's tame for a beach movie rated R. My guess is that Lynn-Holly Johnson's frequent four letter words got it the R as much as the few seconds of nudity. Fashion and hair styles of 1984 are pretty unforgivable now, but that was how people looked then.

Fun movie!
I loved this movie when I was a teenager (even though there were some inappropriate parts for a young girl to see - I was oblivious to it then). I mainly loved this movie because of the romance between Lisa Hartman-Black and Russell Todd (and I was a big Lisa Hartman fan). Good fun movie and I still enjoy watching it today and I love hearing Lisa sing the title song. I never saw the original one that was made in the 60's so I can't compare it but I really enjoyed this one. I would not recommend this to anyone under the age of 16 because of some of the content (although it's mild compared to the shows/movies of today).

Silly Movie and Funny at the Same Time
This movie is hilarious! It may have bombed at the box office but this movie makes me forget my troubles and I can have a good giggle or two. The actresses and actors in the movie were too old to be playing college students and there were scenes I didn't see when I watched the movie on television; I thought Lynn-Holly Johnson was out of place in this farce of a movie! I liked her in Ice Castles and she should stick with drama and leave the comedy for the comedians. Nevertheless I enjoyed the trip down memory lane and it makes me feel that I, too, should head to Ft. Lauderdale for Spring Break!

Great!
Love it. I love movies with music. Musicals are my favorite kind of films. I had it in VHS but now in DVD it has a better quality of picture!!
