Excellent stuff for windows before we put up siding on our house.

Excellent flashing and sealing tape for buildings and even for really demanding sealing or repair jobs!
Excellent flashing and sealing tape for buildings and even for really demanding sealing or repair jobs! The adhesive is very powerful and very sticky, and the foil face/backing is very flexible and surface conformal. I have used this tape in a wide range of applications in weatherproofing and improving the insulation/air barrier properties on the exterior of a large 6-year old Amish barn-type shed that serves as my workshop in my backyard, and I have even used it, with success, for all sorts of special "unapproved" or off-purpose applications, such as sealing a tear in the bottom of a plastic 5 foot diameter duck wading pond in my duck pen (I first emptied the pond of water and cleaned dried the plastic pond surfaces on both sides, before applying the tape to both sides). So, this is a very versatile product that can be used not only as a building tape and flashing tape, but also for all sorts of demanding and unconventional applications. It is very tough, very tenacious and robust, very durable, and the adhesive is very strong.

Whoa!
This tape is awesome. I used it to tape seams of faced foam board that was used in a wall sound insulation project. It is everything that it is advertised to be. Sticky might be an understatement. Be careful, once it touches anything it will stick and stick a lot. The threads in it for reinforcement make it very durable too. Normally with aluminum tape it is fragile and tears easily. That is not the case with this tape. You need to cut it with a utility knife or with scissors.

Easy to work with!
Our contractor advised us to use this wrap at the bottom of our 4x4 fence posts to protect from bugs and water intrusion.

Good stuff
This is my favorite flashing tape. It is very sticky and easy to work with. The local lumber supply used to carry this brand then switched. The replacement was not nearly as good. I've since continued purchasing Proteco Wrap online.

Not as good as it used to be
I used this stuff for flashing around the windows about ten years ago, ,and the tape was thicker and stuck better.I used this stuff recently in the exact same application and needed to use a primer to make it stick to OSB.It stuck fine to metal, but not to the OSB. It was also much thinner.

Loses stick within 6 months
I bought two rolls of this to use on a housebuilding project I was doing - a wide roll and a narrower roll. It seemed worth the cost to keep the frame from rotting. I read lots of reviews and it worked well going on.I had some left over of the rolls and planned to use it on two other windows and a door a few months later. NOT an option. The rolls had completely lost their stick/adhesive all the way through.I wondered if it was something about mine, but my contractor friend who came over with a roll he had found the same thing had happened. All 3 of our rolls were completely useless. EXPENSIVE problem, and did not give me much confidence in the product in the long term on my new construction.Too bad.
