Perfect textbook for my high school discrete math/intro to computer science class.Python is a great language to use for brand new learners who don't have any programming experience. The book covers many discrete math topics; from Set Theory to Graph Theory, from Sequences and Series to Recursive Relations. There's also a chapter on Cryptography which is great. (Note: I go into more detail with cryptography in my class because the kids love it. It is the last chapter of the book and really relies on all mastering all other topics, so it's a little difficult for my students to follow some of the higher-level math. I'm able to easily supplement it, though.)If you're trying to figure out how to teach an Intro to Comp Sci class without resorting to just programming in Java, you need to take a serious look at this book!

Math for the Digital Age
I really liked this book. It covers basically what an introduction to discrete math would cover but in combination with applications on the excellent programming language Python. This combination helps you get in control of otherwise difficult mathematical ideas. If you're a programmer it helps you write more efficient code and, as a student of math, the concepts are easier to grasp when you actually see them in action on the computer.

Great Textbook for High School Discrete Math
This is our first year using this textbook and the class really enjoyed it. Using python was a plus because the majority of the class has little programming experience and python is just an easy language to follow. The math is straight forward and would like more examples. I gave it a four because the resource for this book is limited to solution guide and a test bank....This means you really have to create your own lesson plans and that goods stuff you learned in teacher school but it is the best text I've experience so far.
