Probably it is keeping rats away, but I'm very disappointed because it doesn't deliver the claimed functionality. Specifically:1.) Is very audible - can hear it with the hood shut, 50+ feet away. I'll probably have to shut it off during summer, as it will be way too loud for my kids to sleep through it, with windows open. Sound is like a climbing then dropping whistle.2.) It doesn't shut off when the vehicle is moving - In fact I can hear it while I'm driving down the road with the driver window rolled down, up to 40-45 mph.3.) Every time you start / shut off the vehicle, the 12v current is interrupted, and the unit beeps very loudly for 10-25 seconds until it starts whistling again.Unfortunately by the time you figure out these shortcomings, you are pretty far committed (having installed the device in the vehicle). Maybe I got a defective one? Ugh...

seems to be working, i have a lot less bird poop on my truck thanks to this. worth it for me.

After having to figure it out as to which wire went where, it has worked very well at keeping mice and squirrels out of our car's motor, which has saved us many headaches and expenses as they were chewing wires and even the gas line.

Only Time will tell i have to rodent inside my Chevy tahoe that has chewed up injector wires and well as around gas tank so its time to take action. The unit is small the power switch has a clear cover to help with water damage, it has about 2 feet leads with a round clip at the end to attach to the top battery post that most new vehicles don't have any more so you will have to cut and modify to your vehicle it also has a fuse attach to leads already. Small red led light that comes on when the unit is activated so if you mound under the vehicle it will be seen. The mounting could be better I used large zip ties vs drilling in the vehicle it has some sort of way to check if your moving so make sure you secure it down to frame. I did test this unit on work bench inside to make sure it worked before I installed it, I use a 15 amp 12v clean auxiliary power supply . For some reason this unit is looking for more than 12volts before it will even come on. I guess it has a battery volt checker and so you know if your battery is getting low. The pitch of sound is ear bleeding so be warned, again only time will tell if the unit works or not. I don't hear it while driving but the cons of this unit is somewhat disturbing when the unit is power on its works fine however the battery volt checker is the problem Let me explain. When you start the vehicle up your volts drop due to the draw on the battery so the unit goes into alarm and starts beeping a normal tone that you can clearly hear from 20 feet away even under the hood. This beeping sound will continue for about 40 sec while the vehicle is running even if you get in start up and take off you will be a block away and still beeping loud. This is only when you first start the vehicle up that it does this, that's the biggest cons. But if you don't mind the noise this unit could save you major dollars fixing it after a rodent does its damage. I received this unit for a discount for my honest reviews.
