Rano Electronic Door Lock. W/ Code, Mifare Keyfob, Android NFC Phone & Key (Brushed Chrome -Version 1)

I have been looking for a lock with all of these features for quite a while. This is the only one I found that had nearly everything I wanted. The only thing it does not have is where you can view online who came and went and when. ..however all the ones that do have that feature seem to having a lot of issues by the reviews so maybe that's a good thing until the bugs in that technology are fixed. I LOVE this lock and have been telling all my friends about it. The instructions were fine, they did say how to reverse the handle...some reviews said they had to look online because that was not in the instructions, but wondering if they had version1 and this had since been updated? The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because there is 1 flaw...the size of the lock. Unfortunately if you have a standard door with the handle and deadbolt holes about 5 inches apart, you cannot keep the deadbolt on and Unfortunately have to get one of those discs that cover the hole. The discs are very cheap, but not very pleasing to look at, kind of an eye sore on your door. I will have to get one and try to paint it to match my door. Would really have liked to keep my deadbolt to use at night as extra security. The lock is just about a quarter inch to big (see pic). Other then this, the lock is perfect and I absolutely love it!!!

Well-made, easy-to-install lock. Programming isn't too difficult, and NFC tags work great.Two minor complaints:First, there is no way to turn on the keypad backlight without attempting to click a key on the keypad, so unless you feel your way to the first correct digit of your PIN, you'll have to start over after the backlight is lit. It would be nice if the keypad lit when the handle was touched, for example. It is just a bit clumsy in very dark situations when you cannot see the keys at all.Second, there's no way to disable the keypress beep that I could find, but I could see that could be considered a safety feature (hearing the beeps which indicates someone is trying to enter). It's just that in our case, we are using this indoors and the beep is loud enough that it can be heard throughout the house.BOTTOM LINE: An electronic door lock that is worth the mid-range price.

Great item so far. I don't have to deal with inserting key all the time or mis-matching them. Got one for home if everything goes well I'll get few for business as well. Two cons that was giving me some uncomfortable time: I couldn't figure out how temporarily to turn it of. Lets say I'm around my door going in and out and don't need to lock it, but disable for some time. Also, if it had any kind of electronic journal with everybody who entered it would be great. I don't see reason of having 200 different users option though if there is no way to record it. I have different pass code lock and everybody uses same pass.

Just installed this lock today on my shed. Why would a shed need a lock like this? My shed has a kegerator inside!While preventing underage kids and some neighbors from grabbing a few cold ones is important, always needing keys was inconvenient.Now all my family members have a code or a fob for easy access.This lock seems to be made really well, all stainless hardware. Installation was the same as any other doorknob style lock. The only differenceis the option of drilling an upper hole through the door for a third back screw, which of course I did. Programming is well, programming.It does program exactly as stated in the instructions. The lock performs as described, and I am very satisfied with it. Cheers! ;)

This is awesome. I bought an extra one, even thou I do not need it right now. I was searching for about 20 hours, and bought about 5 other products, until I got to this one. It just does everyone. NFC, keypad, key, NFC+keypad and other setups. If it had logging and low power Bluetooth, it would be the world greatest lock, but for this price, there is nothing else out there. I looked. I spent over $2000 on testing other solutions.

The key fobs do not work to unlock this unit; that was the whole point in buying it. The Mifare stickers and phone access do not work either. Plus it is so tall it blocks part of the deadbolt hole rendering the deadbolt hole useless. I will have to now plug the deadbolt hole with something. The keypad works, but less expensive units have keypads. The extra money spent for this unit was a waste.

Very nice looking door lock, just wish I could have used it. The reason for the four stars and not five is I didn't use it because it requires you to drill an additional 3/8 inch hole in your door that I did not want to do. Once you do this you are committed to use this or if your lucky another one that can hide the hole for life.I would recommend this lock if you don't care about another hole in your door, I just didn't want one.

No more lost keys, no more accidental lockouts. I should have purchased this ages ago. The installation manual could use some supplementation- it took me a while to get it installed- but the seller was SUPER responsive and helpful when I had a question about it. Programming is really easy, and everything works great. Absolutely worth the time and money. Buy this.
