A beautiful and educational story
What a fabulous way to teach young children (and adults) the strengths and challenges of an ADHD mind! My son has a touch of ADHD and pretty severe dyslexia. This book can also be applied to the wonderfully different way his brain operates. I can’t say for sure since this isn’t something we experience in my family, but it might also be good for children with other special needs whose behavior sometimes draws attention in the classroom or public places. The author handles the sensitive topics of being different tactfully, celebrating the beauty of a unique mind, without sugarcoating some of the harder experiences. She even touches on utilizing treatment to help the child (or in this case, Victor).Yes, this book is educational for all of us! Well done!

Wow! Parents & Kids Will Love This!
Victor & the Vroom reminds me of the more successful Pixar movies, in that parents will enjoy this book in equal measure as the kids. This book is so well written and the illustrations are creative, unique, and fun to look at. The message of the book is very moving, so be prepared to be asked by your kids why you have a tear in your eye! I suspect this book will be read in our house for years to come.

A Must-Have for Every Family!
My kids absolutely love this book! The story depicts a refreshingly clear and hopeful portrayal of how each of us are uniquely distinct. What an innovative and thought-provoking way to show kids that they can embrace exactly who they are. The illustrations are truly eye-catching, magnetic, and memorable, drawing you in with well-crafted, playful imagery. One of those indispensable children's books for every family's bookshelf.

Sweet story kids “get”
This is a sweet and helpful way to both explain to children about ADD / ADHD, and to help kids with ADD / ADHD see their value and special gifts. My children appreciate the story and the detailed, unique illustrations. This book is now on our “frequent reading” shelf!

Each child is Special and learns when the time is right for them.
I liked the idea of promoting that all children are Special and have different ways of learning and responding to others.

Being different is a gift.
Victor, a spiffy blue hatch-back, discovers he simply cannot behave like all the rest of the cars. He’s smart and creative, but he doesn’t always act the same as the other cars. And he certainly doesn’t sound the same as the other cars. “VROOM ZOOM TIKKA TAKKA REV REV ZIKKA ZAKKA”Sometimes Victor gets into trouble for just being himself. His friends, a pickup truck, a red compact, and a green sports car would like Victor to be more like them, but Victor finds it extraordinarily difficult. Even his racing coach suggests he practices being more like the others. Victor tries and tries, but it’s just too hard.Victor & the Vroom is a lovely story about being yourself, and embracing precisely who you are in any given moment. But perhaps even more importantly, it demonstrates how others can learn how to embrace and enjoy differences too. The world would be a very boring place if we were the all same. The author and illustrator point to ADD/ADHD as the motivator for Victor & the Vroom. Many children will, indeed, see themselves in the spiffy blue hatch-back. But maybe, they’ll see themselves in the other cars too, and come away with a whole new perspective on acceptance. This would make a great classroom read-aloud for PreK-2nd grade!
