The Maury Yeston Songbook Piano, Vocal and Guitar Chords

Came quick and looked great.

Well, several songs in this album are interesting, but most are not the best compositionally. They are comparable to Andrew Lloyd Webber in that there is good text, but not a whole lot of musical value. There is a lot of repeating of the same musical phrase in a different key, with very little contrasting music. I am disappointed in the overal quality of the music.

If you are looking for a Yeston collection that has all five songs from his "December Songs" cycle, beware that this book contains only four of them.
