Aswad

One of the first British reggae albums I bought in the 80's. I still have the LP :-)One of my favorite bands and favorite albums.New Chapter of Dub by the same group is a benchmark for excellence in Dub.

Pure niceness. I have always been soothed, impressed and gratified by the Aswad and buying this collection again as a cd was long overdue.

Wow! This tasty reggae CD is the best Aswad title available with soaring vocals and a good remastered 32 year old recording. I rate this as good as the first New World CD which is exceptional. In fact I usually play Aswad after New World. It has sophisticated arrangements with melodic songs. As a bonus there's some dub. Get this CD if you want a tasty reggae treat.

I love 70's reggae. When I heard about these guys and listened to the samples I thought they were right up my alley. They're not bad. A kinda generic sound. Not really what I prefer... but the cd ain't bad. I doubt I'll buy more Aswad... but it is still a alright cd to put in my collection.

Aswad's self tilted debut is a reggae classic, and one of there best. The original of Natural Progression can be found here, along with the amazing opening track I A Rebel Soul and the beautiful closing track Concrete Slave Ship. From start to finish its a classic.

From the U.K. Aswad shows its musical and vocal chops best on its earlier albums like this one.Later they go way too crossover for me.This is them at their rootsiest during the Marley era.

Do not hesitate, this is a must have in reggae classics. It has some very nice ballads; tracks 3 and 6 are my favorites.

This record is a reggae classic. A must for anyone into roots reggae. To bad Aswads other records aren't anywhere near this good.

It’s for a gift, so I haven’t listened to the cd but it arrived promptly, in immaculate condition.

Early Aswad before they were really big. Much better than I thought. Great roots album.
