Basic ROBLOX Lua Programming: (Black and White Edition)

Its a great book, indeed, really teaches people the basics and is easy to understand, great for kids to get into scripting.There is one con about this book:The examples are outdated, ROBLOX updated some stuff.Not quite done with the book yet, hope to finish it soon :)

I rate 5 starts because this book helped me so much and now I understand scripting on roblox!!! I recommend this book strongly.

Maybe in 2008 this book was ok. Today, however, it does not match Roblox Studio.Tutorial - 1 Setting up a game, starts with something that does not exist in Roblox Studio when first opened.I bought this book for my son, and to a kid just getting started, having half-baked explanations and poorly written sentences, is not good. I understand the kid was young when writing this book, but that does not excuse the grown-ups who publish it from not making sure it is correct and has good grammar.Shame on the publisher.

The book itself contained useful information. However, the book itself was poorly printed. The cover was blurry, as if it has been digitally blown up. The pages were gray and black, with no real color. The text was a little weirdly spaced and organized, but i didn’t mind that much.Would rate it 3.5 stars if I could!

I got this to learn about ROBLOX Lua and it really has been like a stepping stool for my scripting. It is a good book for beginners, and as long as you read it all well, you should understand it fine. A few typos, but they are mostly easy to infer the actual word. Already read intermediate, and waiting now for Advanced.

My son loves playing Roblox but the programming he wanted to learn and wasn't sure how. This book really helped him. He was very happy to get it and was surprised I'd found it.

I liked the simplicity of the book and it was helpful. However, half of the code examples did not work even after I reviewed the code several times. I had no understanding why but thought that I would be able to look at the tutorials later and figure it out. Unfortunately, the links to the tutorials do not work either. I am not sure why. At any rate these two experiences drastically impact my rating as it is not meeting it's basic objectives. And if the error is on my side then I can safely assume that the instructions for a "Basic" book are not sufficient. Kudos, however, to the young entrepreneur. I admire the courage to get out and get it done.

I have been reading this, its good for scripting, it tells you everything about the program called roblox studio. with a great game called roblox.

Helped me to create a small roblox tycoon, it was really helpful for the price !

The book is completely useless. It is impossible to learn anything with it. It lacks a concept, a thread. Many things are simply listed without explaining them. Instead of showing screenshots of the tutorials (which are copied from somewhere - why not be a bit creative and think about some new tasks yourself?), screenshots of menus are shown. What is there to do with it? You can see them when Roblox Studio is open. Sorry, but this book is copied together quite lovelessly. Font size and line spacing seem to be meant for seniors or serve the purpose of filling many pages with little content.
