BEAUTIFUL Stained Glass Look with PRIVACY
UPDATE: I still love this privacy film in the room facing the street, however the color from the beginning of use did fade. I've had it for 4 years and remember within a year it began to fade. It was surprising because the window is not on direct sun. The side with the screen faded slightly less, but overall the blues are different and the browns and greens lost a lot of color. Just FYI. It still maintains privacy and is pretty. I noticed how much I like the texture of it mimicking real stained glass. This is VERY Good QUALITY Window Film, would recommend to anyone. I've used a number of styles, brands, the quality of this plastic is SO Good , it makes it very easy to use and also re-adhere to fix. Best Advice is to measure and use heavy type of ruler or square to make your cuts. Can use scissors with box cutter if needed to trim. I was lucky in the bedroom facing the street I used this in, I was able to purchase the 11.5" x 78" with very little waste because I have a narrow , sliding vinyl windows, so all I had to do was trim one extra piece, you can barely tell to stretch this out to work for this window. I feel like the photos I took show the realistic colors you'll have after hanging and even more beautiful in person. It really helps to create a calming mood in that room. I have BM Sea Salt Gray on walls and rustic ceiling this is being paired with. This is opaque and creates a GLOW in your space, use where you need blocking type privacy, BUT I still get Light through this with beautiful effects. Posted as was installing, daytime and nighttime photos from outside house. This is a must where you need security /privacy. Highly recommend.

Scale of the pattern was much smaller than I imagined.
The quality of the film was very good, and easy to apply. I was disappointed that the pattern looked inauthentic to stained glass because the pattern was smaller than would be realistic. It looked cartoonish from the street when it was backlit by a lamp at night. I had applied a different pattern at my daughter's house and that was beautiful.

Prettier in Person
I got this for our master bath remodel to be the door covering to the water closet. It is a pocket door with a window in it and I thought the pretty stained glass would give it a better view. It is very "sticky" and goes on fairly easily enough, it takes a little doing, but it does go on. I like the look of the colors since our bathroom is done in a peacock style and colors.

Worked for What We Did
This is a very specific use of the product, so we didn't use it according to directions. We can't speak to whether this is a good product for regular windows or standard applications. But for our purposes it worked great. We used the window film as part of a Halloween decoration in our front yard. Some of the things we learned might be of use for others though, so here they are. This is not a sheer film. It's thick. That makes it sturdy. You won't probably need to worry about it tearing, but it might make application more difficult. It won't seal to an uneven surface, but that's true of all films. We actually had to glue it down with a 3M spray glue because it was on corrugated plastic and was so thick. It's not very wide. We only trimmed away about two inches to make the windows you see in the picture. For us it didn't make a difference, but if you have a large area to cover, it might be a good idea to do the math and realize how many times you'll have to try and line up the design. From a distance it will fool most folks that it's stained glass, but up close you'll know it's a film. I think that's pretty true of all of these films, but adjust your expectations accordingly and you won't be disappointed with a splash of color or blocking the view.

Different boxes are different colors...
When I initially bought this product, I loved it. It looked great on my windows and wasn't too difficult to install. It wasn't quite wide enough to cover both windows that I needed it for, so I had to order a second roll. I put up the second roll and for some reason, it was much more difficult than the first. It just didn't want to stick, no matter what I did. I finally got it up, although I had to use painters tape to hold it in place. The next morning my fiance saw it and asked why the windows were different colors. I hadn't realized the night before, because it was already dark, but the windows were definitely different colors. The first roll I got was mostly purple and copper colored, but the second was primarily blue and green. I'm so annoyed with it, but I don't want to waste more money on buying yet another expensive roll of this stuff in case it turns up in a 3rd color. 😖

Beautiful film!
So in my new rental, there is a window that looks directly into the bathroom over my kitchen sink. Random, I know. Luckily it's high enough that honestly it's mainly more awkward for the men, but I knew that I needed some kind of film to help obscure it. Curtains just seemed like over kill, and since it's right by the kitchen sink, potentially could get really disgusting so I looked up stained glass films and glad I came across this one! It was affordable, and I liked the different color blues. What was the most pain was to try to line up the patterns as much as possible because the film itself was no where big enough to cover the entire window. I ended up having to cut 2.5 different panels to make this particular window work but it honestly took less than half an hour to cut and place on the window. I cleaned the windows with windex instead of water, but the cling went on really nicely and although I tried to get the bubbles out right away and failed, the bubbles were gone the next day.
