Call Arris first for correct cable modem for your needs -Finally a WIFI cable modem that works
I have Xfinity as my provider who first recommended I blow 200 bucks on an Arris G36. Lost 160 bucks on that as by the time I installed it, too late to return. Then they recommended an Arris T25. Still have that dust collector as same deal, can't return and no one will give me 20 bucks for it. Finally called Arris who knew their stuff and they recommended this WIFI model that I purchased for 65 bucks refurbished and works great. Arris customer service dudes seem to be from India but work in downtown Philadelphia. Don't care as the folks at Xfinity are nice, don't give me a hard time when I want to purchase a piece of equipment of my own but I lost around 400 bucks until I finally called Arris and knew exactly the model I needed. Long term, I'd save 15 bucks a month. It appears I’m not the only person out there whose provider doesn't have a clue. Moral of the story is to call Arris, tell them your provider and what devices you need and they will save you hundreds of bucks unless you try to install it right away and can return it. Anyone out there want an Arris T25 in mint condition? JK as I'll post it again on Facebook's Marketplace for 15 bucks and see what happens.

Malfunctioning, no internet, no support, too late to return
I had high hopes to a battery backup 911 phone line, modem and router "all-in-one", but this specific unit was a trasher and the manufacturer's support was very bad. While it's my fault that I didn't try to install this before the deadline to return it, it reflects on Amazon's refurbishment program that the device had serious problems when I got around to it (four months later). Could not connect to internet (after extensive diagnostics, including service provider's technician spending an hour on it.) In addition, I couldn't log in to the web-based settings framework. Ethernet didn't register at all until after the first (of three) hardware resets. This couldn't have all happened since Amazon shipped it, this strongly indicates that Amazon sent a broken product without properly testing it.The device itself has certain issues with the manufacturer - their web page for this product does not provide a link to the manual or firmware update(s). Arris has no excuse either.Lots of wasted hours by multiple people and interruption of an essential service - absolutely not acceptable.

Works nicely....
This was a terrific purchase. I initially got one (another Arris) from Best Buy that didn't have phone jack ports for a landline. I was subsequently informed that that comes on a more expensive unit since apparently landline modems are a thing of the past. In any case I needed one and found this one, love the price, installed the unit and Comcast was able to provision it so that it worked without any difficulty. Big win for me without spending the crazy sums of money required for a comparable model at a store like Best Buy!

Worked Fine but came dirty
It worked fine and I did not have to engage my ISP to bring it online. I took off one star since it was dirty, not just dusty but I had to take a rag and a disinfecting cloth to bring it to a level that worked for me.

Much better speed than the Cable Company provides with their Cable Modem plus WiFi
Recommend to buy this item used or refurbished!!!It was said to restore to factory settings before attempting installation, which I heeded and I am glad I reset the Cable Modem. Now, for contacting your Cable Provider: You must provide the serial number and the MAC Address of the Cable Modem... I use Xfinity/Comcast in my area, where I used their app to register the cable modem... once recognized, it's a matter of setting up the local area network if you are using the ethernet ports and then WiFi. Xfinity now tells you to only have 1 name for both bands (2.4GHz & 5GHz), but with this Cable modem you can keep two separate names for the bands or combine them. I have HomeKit items that are 2.4GHZ only, so I have two names... the other computing devices are on 5GHz N/AC and the speeds are great along with the coverage. I live in a 550sqft apartment with a thick wall dividing the bedroom from the living room, and all wifi routers have given me 1 less bar with devices in the bedroom... I stream music and take wifi calls when they come in, with no issues with this cable modem plus wifi. While not necessary for me to go to WiFi AX cable modem, the G34 used or refurbished is looking tempting?!? I'll have to wait a few months though. To see pricing for higher than 100mbs down, which is fine for me! I'm not gaga about 4K video due to bandwidth caps of 1TB (1024GB) that Comcast/Xfinity has unless you pay more for unlimited bandwidth... I'm not a gamer! I do watch tons of Tech "how-to's" on YouTube and entertain myself with Shows & Movies on AppleTV+ and of course "Work From Home" stuff.

Turbo connection
Me and my family just recently decided to buy a router instead of using the ones from companies and we realize it was a big mistake because usually when there’s a power outage and the power comes back, it will take at least a good 15 minutes to come back at sometimes you won’t get disconnected to some of your daily routines on the Internet so if you’re just looking for a brother, you have better host looking for better ones do not recommend you getting this.

used or not, this is a great value.
this product is super easy to use. the whole issue with connecting with a carrier is the carrier does not have your serial number - mac address of the modem. So, unless you tell Comcast or other carriers that you need to give them your mac address, for your own customer owned modem it will not be recognized with comcast or any other carrier. let it integrate into comcast's system so the carrier can recognize this unit. Then you need to get the BILLING department to xo your rental modem and ACITVATE your customer owned modem.this is why you hear the horror stories of why the modems cannot be activated. Don't be discouraged by the used part of this. These modems can work for years and years without an issue.
