21-Day Arthritis Diet Plan: Nutrition Guide and Recipes to Fight Osteoarthritis Pain and Inflammation

Grandma told us, "You are what you eat!"
A huge body of evidence ties ultra-processed foods to autoimmune disease, heart trouble, and neurologic conditions. Eat healthy, be healthy. Because you have to have nutrition anyway, why not eat right so you can feel right?

Love!! Love!! Love!!
If I could give this book 10 stars I would. The information is easy to understand and thorough, the meal plan is simple, and the recipes are wonderful. The recipes are easy to follow, budget friendly, fairly quick to make, and delicious!! We've been using it for a few weeks. My pain has lessened and I have lost 12 pounds. I also have a much better understanding of what foods are helpful so I can adapt recipes and find recipes outside of this book that would be helpful on this journey. Definitely recommend!!

Delicious recipes
This book has weekly meal plans and recipes that cover a whole month plus a few extra recipes. I followed the first week as it was written. The recipes were very good but following the weekly meal plan seldom used the leftovers. I started making my own weekly plans based on theirs but incorporated the leftovers into the weekly plan. I did substitute some items that we didn’t eat( beef for lamb) and some vegetables that were more cost effective. But otherwise I like this book for the good information on dealing with inflammation and foods to eliminate. Been doing this for 5 months, feel better and down 20 lbs.

Good information for managing Osteo
Calling this a diet book really gives it a bad rap. When I think of diet books, I think of books that are meant to have you lose weight when it needs to be a lifestyle change for anything. The nice thing about this book, is it is meant to educate you regarding inflammatory producing foods, and pain relieving foods; not foods to lose weight with per se.The Chapters:IntroductionAbout this DietOsteoarthritis ExplainedArthritis & NutritionThe 21-Day Arthritis Meal PlanBreakfast & SmoothiesSalads, Soups & SandwichesMeatless MainsPoultry, Fish & SeafoodBeef, Pork & LambDessertsMeasurement ChartsReferencesIndexFor me personally, this didn't really benefit me much because I stick to a whole foods based diet and eliminating processed foods and dairy or other less than healthy foods.Being a medical professional as well as a health and wellness consult with a focus on nutrition, this is still a good book for anyone who wants to learn more about some things that people use, such as medications, treatments, and such as well as the stages of arthritis.I have some personal differences in the foods to include (meats, dairy) as well as foods to avoid (avoid processed foods). But people always have the choice of whether to add these or not depending upon how your body tolerates them. Arthritis is only one malady that many people suffer and while there are multiple others, this one concentrates on Arthritis only.I do appreciate the information presented on nutrients, supplements and superfoods. While not extremely thorough, still some good information presented. And while there is a good list of pantry staples; don't feel like you need to have them all. For example, I don't tolerate rice, salmon, or walnuts at all. I don't like hot sauce. I do keep a good variety of beans as well as many other staples in my pantry however. The fridge foods is a very good list as well. The book has a 21 day meal plan which is helpful as well as multiple recipes on that plan. As is usual for this publisher, there are not many pictures; just the ones at the beginning of each chapter. So if you are a visual person like I am, this can be a drawback.I really appreciate the references in this book. I don't take what is in writing at face value, but I do like to research references and see that they add value.Overall, I feel this a book that has some good information and people could benefit from it.I received a copy of this from the publisher in exchange for my honest opinion.

Bad information
This book includes brown sugar in recipes and a lot of tomato recipes. Tomatoes are of the "nightshade" vegetables and should be eaten with caution and sugar is bad. If you need sweetener you need pure honey or pure maple syrup. A complete waste of money.
