Looks nice, but unrealistic numbers
I was really excited to get this book, and use it. I've used two pages of this book so far. The first one (p.44) has a typo on the labeling of the graph (hr instead of min), the "positive acceleration" part of the graph looks like a straight diagonal line instead of a curve, and the dog is going faster than a dog can go. 1.8 miles/minute is a super fast walking dog. I told my kids it was a genetically mutated super dog.The other page I used (p.40) "Out to Dinner" takes place over a total of 12 minutes. Yes, they left home, stopped for dinner (3 minutes) and got back home, in 12 minutes. Interestingly, during part of their drive, they are going 300 miles per hour.We ended up using this as a lesson in fact checking and how to spot really bad data. I'm loathe to try any of the other pages; I don't know if they are similarly poor numbers or not. This book needs some proofreading and editing; I can see its potential, but I don't like it as is.

Not Quite What I Expected
Admittedly, I'm a little out of the target audience. I teach freshman biology, but my students tend to need help combining their math and science skills. I thought this book sounded like it would do just that. I will only use a few of the pages in my class. The book is good, but not entirely what I expected. The book ONLY has the students READ tables and graphs in the categories: life science, earth and space science, physical science, and distance-time and speed. I expected the students to CREATE some tables and graphs themselves using data provided. Unfortunately, there is none of that.

Not all graphs portray reasonable data.
There are several average speed graphs that have you determine the speed to/from somewhere and the rate of speed is unrealistic. For example going to grandma's house a distance of 15 miles takes only 5 minutes. That equates to 3 mi/min which is 180 mph. For the most part the graphs are good, but there are 15 pages of distance/time practice some of them are reasonable, but many are not.

These are excellent and cover topics from standards at my grade level ...
Exactly what I needed! I teach fourth grade science and wanted a way to strengthen my students ability to interpret graphs. These are excellent and cover topics from standards at my grade level and above.

Worth every penny and more...
Just received it - and the graphs and tables are exactly what I wanted. Easy to duplicate, too. I am using them in freshman bio as warm-up exercises. Could not be happier with this purchase.

Great for reinforcing/ practicing graphs, charts and tables
My students are struggling with inference and reading graphs in general. This book has been exactly what they need. Each blackline provides practice with interpreting at various levels of thought. They have become my bellringers about 3 times weekly!

Worked Perfect!
Excellent for graph reading practice! Lots of variety. Worked perfect for my 8th graders to practice with.

I've been looking for a resource like this for a long time
I've been looking for a resource like this for a long time. Reading tables and graphs is a very important skill and my 10th and 10th grade students benefited from the practice.
