Bingfu Dual Band 978MHz & 1090MHz 6dBi, Magnetic Base, Antenna for ADS-B / Aviation Msgs.
Surprisingly pleased with the good reception that I get with this relatively cheap ASD-B Antenna.I just need to mount it higher for better reception.Very good.

work
Work very good, would buy again

Pure crap
My home made antenna, which cost 1/10 of this thing, since I cannot call it antenna, gets few times more data.

Cut it to a 1/4 wave antenna for ADS-B reception
At it current length the max range topped off at 40 miles. When cutting the antenna at 69mm, which is 1/4 of the wave length my range more than tripled to 135 mile range. I use it strictly for ADS-B aircraft traffic only.

Pure Bravo Sierra on the specs.
I purchased this to gain range on ADS B over a simple extending antenna that came with a portable FM receiver. I had ranges of up to 120 miles with it used indoors. I connected this antenna and my max range was 44 miles. I then used a VNA to sweep the antenna and found resonances at 149 MHz and 450 MHz region. There was none in the 1.09 GigHZ area. I then found the exact same antenna with a different connector, by the same manufacture, touted for the police band. Whie this may work for those bands it is useless on ADS B. I will be returning it! I gave it a 1 because even in China putting a different label on the package does not change the antennas characteristics.

Magnet is too week
The antenna reception is good but the magnet is too week for a mobile application. At first I was happy with the antenna driving around town but as soon as I was on the highway (70 MPH) it flew off of my roof. I have another magnetic antenna on my truck for AIS data and the only thing that has nocked it off was tree limbs.

Does not perform amazingly. About as basic as an antenna gets.
This antenna is actually rated for other frequencies though it's sold for 978MHz. It performs very poorly when trying to pick up aircraft on UAT. At best I've seen air traffic within 20 miles, rarely does it get more than a few packets. Not worth the money.

Very thin Cable and poor signal for the size.

Ok
Ok pour le prix

Poor performance
Despite nominal performance of this antenna is shown as "6dBi", actual performance of this definitely less than the "NooElec ADS-B Discovery 5dBi", .Since my coverage area was shurinked under 1/2 from NooElec's, I have ceased using this.

Works well as a portable or temporary antenna - subtle tricks help improve performance
I bought this antenna for portable and temporary use and I am quite happy with the results. If you place a cookie-sheet under the antenna, it appears as a ground plane and will drastically improve the antenna performance.Height is might. Get your antenna as high as you can above obstructions for the best performance possible. The included cable will NOT get you very far but that is a good thing as cables of this size and type are VERY high loss at the frequencies this antenna resonates at. Mount your receiver as high as you can and the antenna's compromise qualities will quickly disappear.

Save your money! Buy a soldering kit instead!
The product arrived intact. However the quality leaves much to be desired. I constructed an extremely crude dipole antenna from a scrap piece of speaker wire jammed into the port of my sdr and the secon wire taoed to the outside of the connecter ad ground and it gets a cleaner signal... save your money!I would say it could work in a pinch. But speaker wire + sma connecter etc is extremely cheap in comparison. And customizable to your needs.
