Great product
I have used Norelco (now Philips Norelco) triple head electric shavers for many years. My last shaver lasted 17 years - and although the battery was no longer able to hold a good charge, I was able to use it while plugged in and that gave me many more years of product life. If you cannot use the shaver when plugged in, then the product life will end when the battery is no longer able to hold a charge sufficient to complete a shave. With that in mind, I wanted a new shaver that would also work while plugged in, and this model provides that (as do other models in the 2000 series from what I have read). The tradeoff is that you are not supposed to use the shaver in a wet type of application. All of the "higher end" electric shavers are wet/dry, and thus are not supposed to be used when plugged in. I have read that they actually will not turn on when plugged in as a safety feature, but I do not have direct experience with that. That means the more expensive shavers will likely have a shorter product life.I found the shave of this new (model 2500) shaver to be great. In that regard, I am not sure that the more expensive models (some significantly more expensive) would provide much added benefit. Cleaning is easy - you just open the head and blow/brush is out or run water over it (be sure it is unplugged). This model comes with pop-up trimmer. I wanted a model with a pop-up trimmer, and not all the more expensive models have them. Philips Norelco website indicates the shaving heads should be replaced every 2 years. However, the instructions that came with the product indicated they should be replaced every year. The cost of replacement heads in much less for this shaver compared with the more expensive electric shavers. And from experience with previous models, they will still do a decent job shaving with less frequent head replacements. This model also comes with a travel pouch. In my previous versions of Norelco shavers, the travel pouches were well designed and specifically fit the shaver and also had a separate section for the power cord. The pouch with the 2500 is simply a very thin rectangular pouch that is not designed specifically for the shaver and does not have a specific area for the power cord. The quality and design of the travel pouch was disappointing. I also found images of this exact product with a different travel pouch that looked more sturdy and well designed, but to be fair, those images were not associated with this product listing on Amazon.Previous versions of Norelco electric razors used accordion style power plugs that were durable and felt like they would last. The current power cord is not an accordion style, and it does not feel like it is as well made or as durable. Also a bit disappointing and less convenient for easy storage. Similar to older versions, the product can be used with 100-240V, and thus can easily be used worldwide. Some Braun products moved away from being able to use worldwide voltages that they used to support, so if you travel globally, check on that (Braun make foil-type shavers and electric toothbrushes).Overall, this product provided most of what I was looking for, and at a price that was less to much less than higher end models that probably provide little functional advantage, will cost more to maintain (replacement heads), and which I suspect will not last as long if their product life ends when their battery life ends. The quality and design of both the travel pouch and charger were disappointing.

best Norelco shaver, can use SH50 lift-and-cut blades
Bought this 2600 model after ancient HQ8 (now SH50) "lift and cut" razor battery stopped charging. Was concerned about new "comfort cut" SH30 blades but didn't want the higher-end model "features" like sharp edges that don't fit under your nose, charging stands that take up your vanity space, and detachable rather than built-in trimmers. Picked the 2600 as the battery specs were better. After using for 6 months I can report that the cheaper SH30 blades work fine, but also that the SH50 blades from my old razor fit so I can upgrade if I want to. Charges in 30 minutes and runs for a week. If I don't notice the blinking red light after shaving one day and it runs out the next it only takes a couple of minutes of charge time to finish the job (but it will not run while plugged into the charger). The USB charging cable is great for travel. The lid stays on tightly enough that I haven't used the travel case. If buying today would also consider the 3600 but not sure the 5D pivot action would be useful.

Umimpressed.
My reference point is an old Norelco model I had before. Higher model number, but from years ago.MAIN FUNCTION- Cutting is unremarkable, and maybe slightly subpar. Same or worse than an older model I had before, which still had the original blades after years.- It's bulky. The awkward head/top makes it more difficult to reach some areas.- The flip-up trimmer cuts really poorly. Much worse than what I had before, and not talking about thick hairs.2NDARY CONCERNS- It's designed unsmartly. The button to open the top for cleanup is positioned on the front, where it's sometimes accidentally pressed while removing the protective cap.- The top mechanism's plastic feels a bit cheap. The springy action isn't as smooth as the machine I had before.- More difficult to clean than the older model I had. The trimmings collection compartment is made of deep irregular nooks and crannies.- Doesn't come with a brush. Really?- Does come with a very thin pouch thing, but it's too thin to protect from trauma. I'd rather they instead included a brush.- No real charge level indication. Only blinks when it's about to deplete completely.- The adapter's output is 15V. Not standard voltage like 12V.OKAY- The only thing better than what I had before: the internal mechanism to hold/lock the 3 blades seems less likely to get opened by accident while cleaning up the trimmings.- The power adapter is decent. Long enough cable, not too flexible but at least a decent sheath material that I'm guessing will last. Not twirly (unsure if that's a pro or con).GENERALOne reason I chose it is that I wanted a machine that can work powered by mains even when/if the battery can no longer hold charge. No way to verify it so far, but the specs made it sound like it should. The battery-dependency is the main failing of the old shaver I had. (Couldn't find a suitable battery, otherwise I would've kept it. And what's up with battery replacement needing soldering?)In summary, if I didn't know better I might think it's a copycat design. And while this one's not expensive, "real copycats" are probably still cheaper, and who knows, might perform better.

Great Value! Clean shaves.
Nice electric shaver. Blades it come with cut well and have lasted for several months now. Battery charge last a full week with daily use before needed to recharge. Charging only takes about 2 hours.
