Worldspanner Duel of Ages II - Master Set Expansion

One of the best themes out there. The price reflects the amount of content. The art is beautiful. The game play is smooth and easy to pick up. The biggest down fall to this game is probably clean up afterward as it is quite a mess. Also most people will find it hard to justify the price tag which I get. There is a lot of replay-ability here and I highly recommend this game.

As you likely already know, this set adds more of (MUCH more of) everything to the Basic Set. More characters, more map tiles, and most importantly, more fun!

I love this game. A friend of mine told me the best way he could explain it simply was that it was sonar to hunger games the movie in that your characters you control have different stats, (strengths and weaknesses), the terrain varies, and you pop up on the board in a sort of pod and it’s open an open game from there. You can do quest like actions, search and destroy, etc. I love how open the game play is. You can search for and acquire new weapons, and it’s just a ton of fun! I was blessed enough to get my copy second hand from someon in a trade and the board game designer was gracious enough to send me a price that was missing and didn’t charge me anything for it! And on top of that he sent me an autographed copy of one of his novels! A real stand up guy with a dynamite game. This expansion is a must have as it adds so much to the game that I don’t believe it is ever possible to out play this thing! The replayability is off the charts! No two games will ever be alike, no two maps will ever be alike, and so on!

Worldspanner's "Duel of Ages II" is just a wonderful, fun game (you can see my Amazon review on the product page for Duel of Ages II). The "Master Set" set for "DOA II" doesn't really add a lot in the way of rules, but abounds in new characters, new platters, new keys, and new cards- the fundamental stuff of the base game. I believe the "Master Set" boasts over one hundred and forty new characters, adding to the combinations and options you can choose from, and also ensuring that the stories this game tells will also grow and expand. The "Master Set" is not necessarily a must-have addition to the base game. But if you like "Duel of Ages II" (and I haven't met anyone who played it that didn't like it), the "Master Set" is a fun addition and adds worlds of imagination to an already stellar game.
