A good boost
With relatively little to do during the lockdown, I was quite pleased to be offered this product for building muscle. Who wouldn't want the exquisitely chiseled physique of a Grecian adonis? Unfortunately, science has not yet conjured up a means to provide such a figure from supplements alone, mind. It turns out that you still need to put the graft in too.Alas, I don't actually have any dumbells in the house, however. In order to get those muscle fibres twitching I've had to go about it via a more old-fashioned equipment-free approach. Yes, with no gym I'm having to exercise in a simpler and more natural fashion. I am talking, of course, about daily arm-wrestling contests against my wife Doreen. The lemon and lime flavour of the supplement doesn't sit badly on the taste buds at all. Although it doesn't quite match up to the taste of a lemon and lime Slush Puppy (very much the benchmark of the classic citrus pair flavouring) it is still extremely palatable. I didn't get any sense of an unpleasant chemical taste. Importantly, the ingredients are all perfectly legal for sports- thus enabling me to pass the stringent urine tests that Doreen has insisted upon, lest I gain an unfair competitive edge via banned substances. I've put on a little muscle so far and there's definitely an increased sense of energy after consumption. I haven't yet succeeded in pinning down my wife's formidable limb, although I did once manage to hold her to a draw (after she realised that Loose Women was due to start on ITV, mid bout).

Very artificial flavour
So, I really like BCAA powders, I think they can be a great aide to exercise, and generally I have a good impression of Maximuscle. But try as I might, I just can't get along with this lemon & lime flavour BCAA. It doesn't mix well, despite me trying in water bottles and shakers, and there is a really strange aftertaste. I guess if you were going to chug it, that would be ok, but at the price, I'm looking for good, not ok. Plus I like to drink mine during a workout and I just found myself avoiding drinking during my workout as a result, so reverted to plain water or my alternate BCAA powder. The ingredients are good and I trust the brand, so I think this is a good product, so it really comes down to personal taste. If you generally get on with Maximuscle products, it is worth a try. But if not... then I would try something else.

Unusual Flavour!
My partner switches between using BCAA's in both tablet and powder form and he uses them religiously for better fueling his workouts and helping to achieve better gains. Although he's fairly happy with the composition/ratio of this one (3: 1: 1 with 3g leucine, 1g isoleucine and 1g valine) it's certainly not his favourite in terms of taste! I thought it sounded like a nice fresh flavour but having tried it myself I have to agree it's one to gulp down, rather than savor.

Taste like medicine
Threw it away. There are better tasting BCCA powders out there!

Good quality!
This drink powder seems pretty expensive for what you get when you receive it in the post - it's quite a small tub.But the amount you use for a single serving to mix into your water is tiny! You're going to get 50 or more servings out of the one tub.Taste wise, as long as you use the right amount - it isn't actually too bad. Quite nice in fact. But then I have always enjoyed lemon and lime flavoured drinks. It mixes well in water making it easy and quick to prepare.Quite a good quality product!
