Yes - in my opinion it would be an enjoyable and interesting set to engage him! The pieces are colorful and durable, large enough to handle easily, and could be used to make a myriad of shapes and patterns! The cards are attractive and durable and can be used as another aspect of engagement as well as patterns on which to place the pieces.
