Love the flow of the story
Entertaining for toddlers and very young children. It has a good rhythm so even if the young ones aren't familiar with the storyline, they get the feeling of the story. I read it to children under one and they listen...at least for most of the story. Its fun.

So cute! Great illustrations
I saw this book in the gift shop of a fancy hotel in Arizona and bought it used on Amazon instead. We have another javelina book (The Three Little Javelinas), but this one is more original. The illustrations are funny for adults too. It rhymes, my 1-year old daughter loves it. Not too repetitive, and informative/educational.

Adorable childrens book
I bought this book for my 2.5 year old son for Easter. My husband and I love the Pixies song Javalina and wanted to teach our son about them. This book is fun, attention grabbing, and not too long (or too short). The illustrations are awesome.

They are not pigs
When I moved to Arizona earlier this year I found these large pig-like creatures in my yard quite frequently. I heard this book was cute and informative so I bought it for me, still a child at heart. It was a sweet book and a great introduction to the very interesting world of Javelinas aka: Collared Peccaries. If I were buying this for a youngster I’d recommend age 4 and up.

Fun book for the budding naturalists in your life.
I first saw this book at the Usery Mountain State Park gift shop in Arizona. As an adult I learned that javelinas are not pigs. My excuse is that I'm from out of state and didn't know they existed let alone that they weren't pigs.Fun book for the budding naturalists in your life. I'm a volunteer at a preserve and I plan to share it with our young visitors.

In the Southwest.....
I sent this to a preschool class of 4 year olds in Chicago as a gift for letting me visit their class. The teacher sent a thank you note saying how much the children enjoyed it and learned about javelinas. Many of our classrooms in Arizona have this on their shelves. A great little story with a fun, repeatable phrase.
