I've had a copy of this book since I was little and have read it to make me feel better every time a pet has died (6 since I have owned it). When a friends two cats died I bought this used copy for her children who were taking it very hard. They loved it also and it really did seem to help. It's wonderful without being self helpy. I definitely recommend it if you are agnostic or anyone who does not necessarily feel better reading a book that speaks only of Gods creatures. It has no religious bent which I know if very helpful for many but doesn't do much for me. Unfortunately it is no longer in print but can easily be found on Amazon used.

Given as a gift to a friend's baby. Hopefully they'll love the story as much as we did as kids!
