Awesome tool - a must for slow Kamado smoking.
I'm not affiliated to the merchant nor did I receive any incentives to write this review. It is a result from my personal experience with the product. This an awesome tool that will take you to the professional results of Kamado smoking. The idea itself is simple - keeping the temperature in the Kamado by forcing air into the burning chamber. It is achieved by mounting a 12V fan to the air intake (I know.. sounds like a supercharging, right?.. :) ) . An that is where everything ordinary about this tool is over. The set comes with high speed ambient temperature probe. This probe feeds data to the fan microcontroller. When the temperature goes down, the microcontroller turns the fan up. For those of you, science aficionados, the algo that runs the fan appears to be DFEQ (Deferential equation) based rather a linear one. And that's where the magic is. You see, the fire/temperature changes are very elastic. What that mean is when you stop blowing air on the charcoal, the rise of temperature will not stop instantaneously. It will continue to rise for some time. And perhaps, that is what you experience when you manually keep the desired temperature in the Kamado by adjusting the valves. The DEFQ algo will actually slow/stop the fan before reaching the desirable temperature so there is no large amplitude (hovering) around the desirable temperature. This tool will give 4F-5F deviation from your target temperature, especially on the 200F-350F band.Just make sure that you have enough charcoal in the burning chamber for those long 12h-15h brisket smokes and this tool, combined with a 12V 6000mAh battery, will do it's magic, producing near professional smokehouse results time after time.Enjoy!

finally!
I've been cooking and smoking with a BIg Green Egg for well over a decade. At first I just used the vents which worked well enough except for real low and slow stuff, like smoked salmon. I finally bought the BBQGuru. It never quite worked reliably. It was cumbersome to use and it never really kept the temps where I wanted them. Ended up with a high quality external meat thermometer and a better dome thermometer, but they were all over the place now, with 3 different thermometers, and the Guru was often 50 degrees off. AT one point I sent it back, they were kind enough to replace it, I kept recalibrating it...no matter what it just never gave me the reliable precision I wanted. It finally broke a couple months ago. I was ready to order another and found the BBQube instead. This has changed everything. Often at low temperatures - 160 degrees - it is dead on. And stays dead on for the entire cook. It's much easier to use and set up. The few times it has been off - too high - it has been because my top vent was too open. For the first time in 10 years I've successfully cooked a beef brisket and it was astonishingly good. My only "complaint" is that the hose weighs so much that it drags the control unit off the surface, so if you get one, figure on having a hook or something to hang the unit on. I find the app OK; I use the blue tooth function and it's nice; i can check the temps from my office, or, in the case of the over night 15h brisket cook...from my bed! I have not been able to use the app to set temperatures or alerts. I also DO like the fact that it comes in a contained case, and that it comes with two probes and I like the little rack thingies that you wind the probes on. Keeps everything neat and organized. After ten years it has literally transformed my Green Egg cooking, which was already pretty darn impressive (the Egg, not me)....to an entirely different level. If you are looking for a temperature control device for your grill - my vote clearly goes to the BBQube.

TempMaster, HEAT TAMER
This thing just made life a lot more easier!I recommend doing a trial run to understand it’s behavior (algorithms), the logic is simple the fan throws a certain CFM below the pit target temp then tampers off to zero @ or below target, the TempMaster has this locked down! Paired with Jealous Devil, my control was flawless! The most important thing for strong runs is the pit temp probe placement. There are a couple methods of placements, as long as you keep it away from direct heat and meat moisture/evaporation you will succeed. The next most important thing is your vent opening, I noticed mine had tremendous influence on the rise and falls of the temp.I have about a 40 minute stabilization time, which is a series of temp taming waves. On my Kamado, the first wave of air overshoots the target by about 10-15 degrees ;after it cools back to below target, it’ll shoot to about 5-7 degrees over, lastly it remains within 1 degree,Practice patience give it time to tame before throwing the meat on, enjoy!I will update if anything changes as the smokes keep coming.

TempMaster Bluetooth Automatic BBQ Smoker Temperature Controller
I would have rated the temp master controller a 5 but was disappointed with the hose bracket that attaches to my Primo grill. It is not a good fit. I have to make modification to my grill and the bracket still doesn’t stay properly attached. They should make the brackets for each specific grill.

Perfect for the Big Green Egg
This fan and controller worked perfectly with my Big Green Egg. I put a brisket on and set the temp with this unit and it held it within a degree or two for the entire cook time. Super easy to use. I'd highly recommend getting this if you want to smoke/BBQ without having to watch the grill all the time.

Not bad after a few looks in the manual
The air intake needs some serious attention to a hammer to fit on an Acorn Kamado Style grill and the Menue is not as intuitive as it could be. Once you overcome this hurdle, it work very well. All in all, great purchase!

It works
First time using it , honestly I wasn't sure about temperature control. However after 30 to 40 minutes my target temperature was constantly at 250° +- 2°

Does what it says it does
It does exactly what it says it does. temperature probes do what they should, no surprises. fan controller does exactly what it should, your smoker will be pretty much the same as a pellet smoker in regards to temperature control.

Must have
This works better than I expected. Using it on an Akorn Jr, which can be touchy using just the vents to regulate the temp. With this, just dial in your desired temp and it works just like your electric oven.No issues with running a 9hr long cook on the JrNo brainer
