Yard TuffField 12V Tow and Pull Behind Lawn Tractor Grass, Seed, and Fertilizer Spreader with 80 Pound Capacity, Weighs 16.5 Pounds

This spreader seems to be adequate for my use. Mounted it on the back of a zeros turn mower. I got a new longer control cable because the one included is hard to reach on a zero turn mower. I expected to make this modification when I placed the order. Wasn't expecting much when I ordered especially after quite a few reviews said it was cheaply made. I was pleasantly surprised at how well it seems to be constructed. Works much better than my pull behind spreader.

OVERALL, I am EXTREMELY HAPPY THE DOWNSIDE IT DOES ONLY HOLD ONE BAG OF FERTILIZER 40 POUNDS. I DON'T KNOW WHY AS CORPORATION THEY CAN'T MAKE SOMETHING A LITTLE BIT BIGGER. PLASTIC COVER FOR THE TOP SEEMS TO BE CHEAP. I'M SURE THAT as.TIME GOES BY. IT'LL HAVE WEAR AND TEAR. I tried it out over the weekend and put on four bags of fertilizer in about a half an hour.

After arrival 10 days ago got to use it this morning. Arrived with motor not working. Northern Tool was good to work with to correct problem by replacement. Had to adjust feed mechanism to work easily. Had to adjust spreader shield so it didn't prevent spreader from rotating. Moved operator as suggested in other posts. Secured frame to mower with small chain as shown here in other posts. Better packaging would have mabe prevented some of these problems.Also had to retighten several bolts. Other than the above; sofar it's working.Update Sept 2019; keeps throwing and the losing R Pin, if you use caustic fertilizer all fasteners close to fertilizer will become corroded and rusty. Also fertilizer prevents hopper active plate from operating easily due to excessive corrosion from the cheap metal.

Pretty much a complete disaster. I bought this to mount on my JD X series 4-wheel steer mower. While I expected to make some modifications to get it mounted securely, the entire product ended up being returned because of the continuing issues that would pop up during the install.There were missing bolts that I had to buy, and additional nuts, washers, and eye bolts that I bought to steady the product. Tubing parts were bent at wrong angles, the deflector shield was mis-bent so that the spinner hung on the shield, blowing the power fuse the first time I tried to turn it on. The manual control for opening and closing the discharge port on the spreader was in the center of the spreader, directly behind your back as you sit in the mower's seat, making it impossible to start or stop the flow of product without stopping and getting off of the tractor. That was pretty much the last straw...The hopper is also way smaller than you realize from the pictures, and I would be surprised if you could get enough of whatever you wanted to spread in it without multiple refills. These should be rated by cubic feet rather than pounds. For example, you couldn't get 80 pounds of grass seed in it, but you probably could if your product was dense (heavy) and fine-grained.In short, I never got to use it, but I made several trips to buy and return hardware I bought to try to make the install work. If you enjoy wasted trips to Lowes or Home Depot, this item may be just what you want. Otherwise, steer clear and save yourself the aggravation.

at a $100.00 a bag for seed its get very costly and the adjustable plate DOSE NOT WORK FOR CRAP

Works OK. Takes more room over the back of the mower/ATV than expected. On my mower it dug into my back. I think that it will work better with heavier material. I was spreading light stuff and the bsck-spray guard did not work as well as hoped.

With my not so young back this Easley makes grass maitenance a breeze. I welded on a hitch receiver and mounted this unit on an insert to make it easier to mount and remove....
