Best game in DVGs Field Commander series of wargames
One of the best Napoleonic wargames for solitaire play. Components are best quality for a wargame. Each major campaign includes a mounted board. Tactical battles are resolved in a separate display. Do yourself a favor and buy this game.

Don't be intimidated!
It's an excellent game, no other way of putting it. You can replace Napoleon and see how well you could have done in one, some or all of his campaigns, and it is easy to play, with high quality materials. I didn't even have to trim the majority of the counters when preparing the game, and it has no problems with rules. I wish quite a few other war games were of this quality. A campaign takes maybe three hours to set up, play through, and put away, and that was the first time when I was learning how to play. The only drawback that I see to it is that it'll ruin my opinion of most of the other war games in my collection. You choose the campaign, set up (all counters have the year used on them; you don't use all of them every time), and start playing. The system to cover your enemies moves works great, and the combat resolution makes you feel like a real general (your formations are roughly corps sized; no micromanagement) and considering the scope, excellently sized. I know that sounds odd, but some of the games I've played require insane amounts of space. If I had only one war game to keep, this would be it.

Another great DVG game
Let me start by saying playing a solitaire game like this is quite an experience. The game mechanics are very well designed. The game quality is excellent, yet to keep up with all the game counter pieces I recommend for you to get some counter trays, I believe you can order them from the Dan Verssen game's website as I haven't seen them here at Amazon. Customer service at Dan Verssen's is excellent. I called them and actually talked to Dan himself, he clarified all the questions I had and made me realize how much he really cares for his customers. The game comes with 11 campaigns, each can be play as a stand-alone game on their own. The game instructions are clear, yet you need to take some time to read them through. My advise to you is read the game rules, play the first game using the rules and then you should be OK. Setting the game takes some time, and you can expect to spend a couple of hours playing each campaign. You can check the game reviews at You-tube and all over the web. If you are into history, military strategy games and solitaire games, this could be an interesting one for you.

I am hooked on this game
It took me about a week to figure out the rules, albeit not dedicating a huge amount of time. But once I got it down, wow. There are 11 campaigns, I’ve played the first 2, repeatedly! For months. I win I lose, doesn’t matter.Such a wonderful game, I’ll be playing for years to come.

Great Solitaire replay of the Emperor’s campaigns.
Very playable solitaire game. Some need for a non-existing errata sheet, but nothing that you can’t figure out.

Wow!
An impressive game. Top quality components. Large, heavy box full of goodies. I found it at a nice sale price which really made it a bargain. Requires some study and "dedication" to fully appreciate. There are other games in the Field Commander series in case this time period is not your fancy. Youtube videos available if you want to see what it is all about.
