Good Light but Not a tactical EDC option.
I'm always in the market for budget friendly options for practical tactical gear. I had a good experience with the M5 model and I thought I would try the higher lumens out. Over all, I'm keeping it but I'm still looking for a good carry light. I'm interested to see how the metal charging magnet will hold up to the corrosiveness of sweat with EDC.Pros:Bright, fair flood coverage and decent focused beam on high, rechargeable, power selection to prolong lifeCons:End cap button is nearly too protected for a syringe grip activation, the knurling is too aggressive to be concealed next to skin or clothing without causing damage over time, the pocket clip is too close to center line for low profile pocket carry and the clip is detachable so be cautious about hanging in on things (it pops off), the power selection button is also relocated from the M5, where it was near the bulb end but now is located near the tail cap. This makes single handed selection possible but requires serious practice and the lack of ergonomics yield an uncomfortable fine motor skill. The lens cap is also very sharp which is good for an impact weapon but I've been stopped at airports internationally with flashlights that were to aggressive to pass security. This one is a no go. The light also gets very hot, very quickly on high. without gloves this is a problem.

Super bright! Not quite 2550 Lumens
This light was great! Super bright with great options for the power modes. I loved the firefly setting at about 1/2 a lumen it's perfect for those late night searches when you don't want it too bright. I purchased this alongside a Fenix light listed as 1600 lumens and it seemed to be about the same brightness as this one so I don't think it's really 2550 lumens like they say.Great size and super comfortable in my pocket.A few cons: Pocket clip is too tight and the frame is too abrasive. These both felt like they would wreak havoc on my jeans.

Great EDC Tactical
So far, about a month, works great. Has all the features I wanted, does everything they claim it does. The perfect size I was wanting, lightweight, great grip, tactical face & a tailswitch. The mode switch button is a nice feature, & doubles as your access to strobe. Note this is the only access to strobe, & from the off position, & it is momentary, only on while you hold the button. A co-worker & I have used dozens of different lights betwen us over the years, each w/ pros & cons, this one fits the bill better than any yet. The only real con I can add is not having a "Green / Orange / Red" Charge indicator light, can live w/ that. I use it daily, yet to disapoint, clip works great, removed lanyard ring, haven't used extremly tight holding holster, plan to on backpack shoulder strap upside down, it ain't fallin out, nor dropped, or got wet yet.

Try to put it in the plastic holster.....
Not sure about the light, time will tell, but...try to put it in the plastic holster that comes with it or better yet, try to take out of it when you only have few second...

Most underrated flashlight on the market
I picked up my first Powertac in 2011 at a gun show in Atlanta. Because I work on an ambulance I consider my flashlight necessary “equipment”. Price is no object. I gave away my other flashlights, a Surefire and a Fenix. I now own 4 Powertacs, and all of them work just as well as the day I bought them. I bought this one just because I wanted the latest, brightest model. It does not disappoint. My life depends on it.
