Laid out in chronological order, 1964-1993 reminds us that the Queens, New York, troubadour was dabbling in hymn-lined melodies, Third World accents, and doo-wop melisma long before Graceland or Songs from the Capeman. While Simon's painstaking craft produced little in the way of shelf material (consisting here of a long unreleased track, "Thelma," a solo demo for "Bridge over Troubled Water," and live versions of six other classics), the set does make room for sturdy gems, including "Slip Slidin' Away" and a satisfying array of his enduring album tracks. --Sam Sutherland

which is a favorite of mine
This 3 CD set is a must for all Paul Simon fans. Almost all his songs are in this collection. I did however notice Paul didn't include the song: "I Am A Rock", which is a favorite of mine. Yet even without that song, These are splendid hits, and I would recommend them to his fans. Thank You. A satisfied customer.

My Favorite as the Best songwriter
Paul Simon is my favorite songwriter. His material was from the beginning highly original yet classic in structure. Without the obstacles of a classic college education, Paul Simon intuitively mastered all the techniques.

Paul certainly doesn't have enough compilations released.
There goes my dry sense of humor again.Great compilation, though. No denying Paul's greatness. Some rare tracks too. However, if you're going to release a box set, make it as unique as possible, especially with all those greatest hits albums of yours flooding the marketplace.Anxiously awaiting your next compilation.

J'ai toujours aime ce coffret publie en 1993, et qui annoncait cette serie de concert "retrospective" a New york rassemblant (presque) tous les musciens avec lesquels Paul Simon avait travaille depuis le debut de sa carriere dont Art Garfunkel, et intitulee "The Concert of the Lifetime". Ce coffret etait le premier a offrir sur une meme compilation l'oeuvre entiere de Paul Simon, de Simon & Garfunkel a sa brillante carriere solo. Elle reste d'ailleurs, a ce jour, toujours ma preferee. Et pour tous ceux qui ne le savent pas, j'ai publie une biographie en francais sur Paul Simon/Simon & Garfunkel que vous pouvez vous procurer sur ce site et qui s'intitule " Paul Simon, Itineraire d'un musicien hors norme".
