Well constructed, beautiful Holy Catholic Bible.
This is a beautiful, well-constructed Bible. The Preface by W.H. McClellan provides a wonderful introduction of encouragement to read the Bible and how and why to read it! The Encyclical Letter by Pope Leo XIII is terrific in being an informative guide and resource of understanding the Holy Bible. The Binding and print font are excellent and just right for me. Seems that with care this Bible should last the rest of my lifetime. There are also a few wonderful, beautiful pictures before the Bible begins.

Most legible Douay Rheims Bible I've Encountered
I was happy to be able to purchase this Douay Rheims edition for under $39. I was trying to decide between this edition or the Baronius Standard edition. I'm so glad I picked this one because the font is darker, larger, and very legible to read. The two ribbons are the largest I've seen for a Douay Rheims Bible. I think it would have been a nice touch if there was gold gilded edges but as far as a daily Bible this one is fantastic and highly recommended if you want to get Douay Rheims Bible.

Excellent Bible.
After reading about King James I began to have doubts that the King James version of the Bible is the best to use. A friend suggested a Douay-Rheims version, which is from the year 1899. It is interesting that there are books in this version that have been removed from the King James version. I enjoy reading this Douay-Rheims version, I only wish the font was larger.

I like the larger print.
It's so easy to read now.

Great study bible
I like the weight of the paper and text size, the quality of the material is very good. All of these are important factors in determining whether or not it will last for years of handling and use in the study groups and private reading I do. It will be very important in my day to day life. Looking forward to many years of enjoyment.

One of first translations into English . Nice high qualityConstructed Bible at reasonable cost.
Obviously the main reason I like that this Bible is Pre-Vatican 2, with scriptures from the Latin Vulgate Old Testament and New Testament. Originally published by Douay Bible House in 1941, based on Old Testament first published in 1609 and New Testament first published 1582.The book itself is well constructed with leather sewn binder and cover, nice crisp legible text, and index by names of books and in order under Old and New Testaments. Two nice ribbons to keep placeholders. This is my main Bible used with reference to The New American Bible 1970 if trouble with older language.

Relatively small footprint hardcover bible with a bold 11 point font; Decent paper some ghosting.
Font is a Bold 11 Point Font. Similar to Times New Roman but letters are not as well spaced, a little bit smushed but not bad. Paper is thin and there is some shadowing. Size and weight are a nice balance to hold and read comfortably. Some of the chapter heading in the back are in the wrong spot but a little bit of pencil work fixes that. Overall, one of the best Douay Rheims bible available on the market. Would have been nice if it was a 12 point font with a slightly larger foot print. I had to laminate one of my two copies that i ordered "Used like New" since it had lots of minor damage to the edges and top of the spine. I included a pic of the bible alongside the Haydock version that i also own.
