Product Description Fourteenth studio album by the extreme metal band. With a change of keyboardist, the album maintains a similar sound to previous work with lyrical themes about Norse mythology, vikings and nature itself.

Another triumph.
Enslaved have always been difficult to pin down, even on their very first album back in 91. Since 2004, they have honed and perfected their sound for every passing album and their last two were truly something else entirely. For "E", there has been a significant lineup-change; Late last year clean vocalist and keyboardist Herbrand Larsen left the band and with him went THAT voice. New guy Håkon Vinje does a solid job as replacement, but never reaches quite the same levels as Larsen did. Yet it doesn't put any sort of damper on the simple fact that this is another magnificently good record from one of those few bands that only manage to get steadily better even after nearly 30 years. Fans of the last few albums can rejoice, "E" is another instant classic. Highlights for me are "Feathers of Eolh" and "Hiindsiight"

AOTY
It's remarkable that this band continues to evolve and expand, this album pushes towards a more progressive sound whilst retaining that harsh Enslaved edge. Subsequent listens peel back layers on songs that twist and turn, keeping your ears on their feet! There is always something new that leaps out at you in an album full of surprises. Every song is a highlight but Sacred Horse in particular is immense. As much as I loved In Times this is a superior album in every sense. New keyboardist/ clean vocalist Håkon brings a lot to the table and is a more than worthy successor to Herbrand. Easily their best album since Ruun for me and quite possibly their best album yet!
