USS Pittsburg/ USS Helena
After my uncle found my dad a Revell model of the USS Helena, I was asked by my dad if I would build it for him. I did, and I was so disappointed with that model that I searched the internet until I found out that the Pittsburgh and the Helena were sister ships. Then I found this model on Amazon and I immediately purchased it. When I received the model kit in the mail, I opened it and I did a thorough inventory of the kit. This kit was absolutely complete and nothing was missing.

Good Model at a Good Price.
The main reason I bought this model is because I live in Pittsburgh, PA. I first saw a huge model of this in the local Soldiers and Sailors hall years ago--it was at least 10 foot long. This model is smaller but has a very satisfying 16 inch or so length. Also the detail is good with little flash. It is just like the kits I used to build 50 plus years ago. I'm glad to add it to my collection.

Cool kit, box beat up!
Being a retired Navy Gunnersmate I do appreciate United States Naval history! Box art is a plus. This kit was boxed in Amazon box yet still is damaged! Cool kit! Nice addition to my collection! Go Navy!

Parts missing and does not align
I had to try this model for a couple reasons.......cheaper.......similar to the ship I served on prior to remodel to guided missile cruiser. However, I would not recommend purchase of this item for the following reasons, first missing parts ( I guess one could tell people that the missing gun mount was removed for maintenance), second the hull parts did not match up leaving gaps, third the parts were not cleanly separated from the molds with not marks as to where they should be trimmed. But if one wants a model that with some work might satisfy this could fit the billet. I find Tamiya and Hasagawa models done with more detail and of course smaller and harder to attach parts , specially for older fat fingers. Good luck whichever model you choose, it can be fun even with missing parts.

Don't expect much
You get what you pay for. This isn't a Trumpeter or Tamiya model. Not even close. But it is a model of a class of ship's, that's hard to find. When you open the box. You'll get a hull, but no rudder or shafts and propellers. The main deck is simply made and most of the detai is molded in.Very cheap plastic, that needs a lot of trimming, sanding, and filling. The barrels of the main guns are all bent and curled backwards. Not a good kit at all.Don't waste your money. It's basically a throw away.

Not a difficult model and most ages from teens up will have no problem.
The there is nothing negative to say about this model. I'm going to do a diarama stand to go with it to give to an elderly Navy vet.
