Great Whittle Knife (Use Caution)
A wonderful knife. Holds a great edge. I made several carvings with it.Word of caution! This is NOT a locking blade.I ended up going to the hospital to get my middle finger stitched up because the blade snapped shut while I was carving. My fault for pushing too hard.Safety cut-resistant gloves on both hands is highly recommended! This knife is great for hiking and leisurely whittling. If you're into doing carvings from blocks, go with a fixed blade option.

I love this knife
I absolutely love this. I take it camping with me and enjoy carving next to the campfire. They are extremely sharp and hold their edge.

Wicked sharp
More of a razor than a knife. Goes through basswood like a hot knife through butter. Now all I have to do is to learn how to whittle

Scary sharp. Very tight action.
This is my first whittling knife and I had high expectations based off the reviews.Pros: scary sharp. Easily fits in hand. Looks great.Cons: action on both blades is incredibly stiff. No locking mechanism.I would buy another one.

Awesome little whittler!
I bought this knife to carve on the go but enjoy it so much I find it my go to lately. I own hundreds of dollars' worth of carving tools and this Whittlin' Jack carves with the best of them. The large blade hogs out wood as well as any larger knife and the detail blade is precise enough that I sometimes use it in place of a V gouge. The blades came truly "Ready to carve". They require very little stropping while working. If you're thinking about purchasing this knife, just go ahead and pull the trigger!

Quality knife.
I like this knife for a couple of reasons. It's compact (great size and shape for a pocket, sharp out of box and overall seems well built. The only drawbacks to this knife is, it's not quite as comfortable when using for long periods of time compared to using other flex cut fixed blade products. After I bought it / used it, it is obvious that this product is for on the go, and it's great for that. The other thing, is that the knifes are fairly difficult to release from the knife (especially when using cut resistant tape/glove), and they can also fold in on you at times when carving. This is kind of a bummer. The knife however does not have a lot of wiggle in the blades side to side when carving, I feel like that comes along with how difficult it is to engage the blades. While these issues would not keep me from recommending the product, they are worth mentioning.

Just what I expected from Flex-cut
Before buying I read the reviews and new what to expect. I have bought a lot of Flexcut products and to be honest was a bit concerned about this one. It arrived on time and well packaged. Several reviews stated it was difficult to open and it is at first. After using the knife for some time the blades have loosened up a little and are easy enough to fold out. Still tight and I like that it is as it keeps the blades from closing when carving. The larger (roughing) blade is actually aligned out front of the cut for a better power cut. Meaning it is aligned roughly 10 degrees forward of the line of the knife body. I like that but it took a little getting used to. The detail blade (smaller) is in line with the knife body making detail cuts easier (akin to a common detail knife). The knife body is very angular and I was concerned it would fatigue my hand but it did not. Even after prolonged use it was comfortable. The wood inserts are a bit rough and looked unfinished but oils from my hands changed it to a more finished feel. Using some BLO or mineral spirits after a fine sand would give the same feel. Overall, a great little carving pocket knife for traveling.Note: this is a carving knife not a pocket knife. If bought for a wood carver or Whitler they will love it. I carve a lot when not working on my wood lathe. This little carver is perfect when I am out and about and killing time. Only thing missing is a nice pocket strop to keep that nice sharp edge.
