The Correct Squeeze
I wish people would quit getting this excellent British crime movie mixed up with some 1980s bad comedy. This is a fast-moving, not too confusing criminal caper with Stacy Keach as a drunken ex-Scotland Yard DS, on the tails of kidnappers who have kidnapped his ex-wife and her daughter and are planning a major robbery. It has a wonderful supporting cast including a beguiling turn by Stephen Boyd as Irish crime head Vic. Nice to see Boyd playing a vicious character again . He does those better than his other parts. Enjoy!

hunky Stacey Keach bares it all
The main reason why I had bought this movie was for the extended nude scene by Stacey Keach. In the 80's I had watched Stacey as the hot, hunky Mike Hammer on tv. I had fantasized about what Stacey looked like in the nude. This movie ended my wonder. Stacey bares his not only his ass, but the family jewels, too. He is stripped naked and paraded down a public street. The rest of the movie was itself okay. It's a B-movie, so expectations should be set for a B-movie. Thanks, Stacey, for having the balls to bare your balls for your fans.

Fine Crime Film
This is one of the very great gangster movies. In British film it can be ranked with Get Carter and The Long Good Friday. Believe me it really is that good.Direction, plot, script, acting everything comes together. Making a harder than nails film. Tough with real and scary gangsters plus a career best cameo from Freddie Star. And an excellent starring role by Stacy Keach. These are not geezer gangsters of the Guy Ritchie variety. These are down dirty and very, very nasty. A great film

Grit and nastiness
Don't confuse this movie with the Michael Keaton one. This has Stacey Keach, David Hemmings, Freddie Starr, Edward Fox et al and Stephen Boyd as a particularly nasty villain.Apted piles on the grotesquery and the squalor, and the bank job gone wrong ending is superb.

the squeeze r1 dvd
have been after this film for years.one of the best things that stacy keach has done.ratio 1.85.1.mono.picture a bit soft.but worth every penny.just a good tough thriller excellent performances from all the cast including freddie starr in his onlyfilm role.look out for stephen boyd playing an irish gangster.i don,t want to give to much of the plot away.stacy keach is a alcoholic ex cop whose ex wife has been kidnapped by david hemmings and crew.stacy keach becomes involved when her husband played by edward fox thinks she is possibly with keach.fox owns a money moving company.watch as all this comes together just to say they all under estimate keach.carol white gets her kit off not a pretty sight apart from that a brilliant flick.

cinema sweeney clone
interesting one this, came out in 1977,then disappeared, showed up on a rental early 1980,but never seemed to get a tv showing, plays like a sweeney episode although it`s more on the criminal side of things, known for the only film role of Freddie star, the uk comedian,ok crime thriller that does drag a bit, last vhs outing was from a ntsc tape which looked awful due to being presented in long play, don`t go there, feel like you have the wrong glasses on,just the pits for modern led tv`s.Now we have another great warner bros archive release which does the movie proud, crystal clear picture, you can see and feel the grime of the london underground at the begining of this flick, good mono sound,no widescreen, but does not matter as movie in the cinema was only 35mm.Worth a buy just for the many brit actors in it,although it`s hollywood produced, these archive series of movies are great for seeing something that`s never before been on home video or you saw on good old betamax and never had a second chance again,go buy now.

Great Piece of 1970's British cinemas.
I always loved this film right from when I watched on Five in 1999. Very thrillering and should get the same respect as Get Carter and The Long Good Friday. Great performance from Stacy Keach as an alcoholic ex Scotland Yard Copper Jim Naboth who is searching for his ex wife (Carol White) and her daughter. Freddie Starr steal the show as Naboth's friend Teddy. Also great performance from David Hemmings & Stephen Boyd as the sadistic kidnappers robbers.Get this film NOW!!!!

The DVD itself plays fine in the optical drive of my computer - no ...
This film is very much of its time: a rougher version of the Sweeney in style. I wanted to see it for its unusual sequence of 1970s London locations. The DVD itself plays fine in the optical drive of my computer - no regional restrictions despite being sourced from US.
